Hey this is my first 'blog' ever, to be honest with you it's not really my thing. Usually I just say whatever is on my mind in the forums, but as my recent 'What's Happened To Heroes?' topic has been deleted I thought I'd write a few words here.
Now it's not just Heroes, I could have wrote similar threads about Lost and Greys Anatomy. Now before you start going on about 'well why don't he stop watching', let me just say that all those series I mentioned, I've watched from the very beginning. I can't just give them up like that. I want to see what happens.
I think one of the problems is that there's just too much. 20 plus episodes in a series and usually there's a new series every year.
One of my favourite all time shows, 24 hasn't been on our screens for a while (because of the writer's strike), but that break has helped because it's left the viewers wanting more and it's giving the makers more time and ideas.
Sometimes less is more.
Past great shows like The Sopranos and Six Feet Under only had about 12 episodes a season.
The Lost producers have already said they have an ending but have no idea how they're going to get there. This tells me the whole thing is made up on the spot, as they go along.
So finally, if I was involved in any of the three shows that I mentioned (Heroes, Greys Anatomy and Lost), I'd get rid of some of the cast.
Heroes: Hiro (what's his purpose now he doesn't have a power?), Sylar (just not mean enough), Suresh (a waste of time), Parkman (have him let that bomb off - do something that gives us that omg factor!), Angela Petrelli (why does she have to be involved in everything?).
Lost: Where do I start? There's way too many characters. We only care about the original's (Locke, Kate, Sawyer, Jack etc..) Tie a few things up. Why do they leave you with a cliffhanger one series only to not mention it again!
Greys Anatomy: Sorry but the whole Izzie and her Dead ex-boyfriend is ridiculous. It's right up there with Bobbie Ewing turing up in the shower and Fallon being abducted by Aliens!
Anyway, just my thoughts.
