Don't ask me why im even talking about let alone writing a blog about Tom Cruise on a gaming website but...
After watching a few of his movies fromthe 80's and watching some of his movies now, I can tell you i actually enjoyed his movies, them being:
CockTail:
Now this movie came out when Cruise was at the top of his dear i say '' heart throb '' days??... Hence why alot of reviews of this movie iv'e read say that it's just a '' Cash-in '' or '' typical 80's Cruise movie ''. Which i can certainly see considering there are NOTICEABLE plot holes or the fact that Tom Cruise is ment to of just got out of the Army... Who'd believe that? But even that didn't take away that much of the enjoyment i had while watching this movie. I thought the chemistry between Cruise and Bryan Brown (co-Star)was great,I thought it hadgood romance aswelland althoughi get annoyed by Tom Cruise nowadays becuase of the crappy movies he makes ( opinion), he didnt get on my nerves in this movie which is stated as being a '' Cult ''movie or a '' sleeper-hit ''
A few Good Men:
A Legal Thriller as it were in which Tom Cruise plays a young and slightly cocky-realist Military Lawyer who has to defend two petty officers charged with murder. Now i like this movie not only becuase i think Demi Moore is hot ( true story ) but becuase i really didnt know what was going to happen next which was quite supprising. Now this movie is quite famous for the Nicholson line '' You want the truth..?... You Can't Handle the truth!! '' which is used alot nowadays.
Jerry Maquire:
Now Jerry Maquire is kinda recent ( 1996 ) but still i think this film is awesome for two main reasons:
1, The pacing of the film is great, It picks up and slows down when you'd expect it too
2. Cuba Gooding Jr. steals the show in this movie ( or atleast every scene he's in ). I was even quite stunning at the great chemisrty between Tom Cruise and Cuba gooding Jr.
Out of all three movies i think this one deffiently shows that Tom Cruise can act solely becuase he plays a Sports agent and he made me believe that he's a freaken sports agent.
None of the movies i just listed are neither big blockbuster hits nor did they have multi-million Dollar budgets like the movies of today but after watching these movies im certainly considering picking up Rain Man and Risky Business if i find then cheap on DVD. Hell i might even review them in the future.
Basically this whole blog exists for the sheer fact that i an shocked at myself that i like some movie's with Tom Cruise in:
Cocktail - Good Chemistry, Good Romance
A Few Good Men - Good story, Twists
Jerry Maquire - Cuba Gooding Jr, Good Acting, Pacing.
Of course none of you may like Tom Cruise, All of you may like him hell you may or may not of seen all/any of his movies but if your a fan of 80's movies you should check them out.
