The Dreamcast had another good Gundam game called something like Gundam Side Story: 0079. I have it packed away so I haven't played it in a long while but I remember having so much fun with it.

If I have a day all to myself, I could play 6+ hours easy without leaving a chair. But usually I get about 5 hours a week. Mostly on weeknights, and hardly on the weekends.
Parasite Eve is fantastic. Nothing quite like it at the time, very refreshing. Chrono Cross was fun too. Many of the games listed in this forum are winners. We've played some great games... :)
I saw Breath of Fire on the list and that is a great candidate for a remake. That game was a lot of fun to play. What I'm really waiting for is FF7. A current gen remake of that game would mean the world to me. I would pay a lot of money to have a copy of it, even if the only thing done is updating the graphics.
I love to play linear games. Single or Multi player. The last great single player for me was FFX, loved that one. I think games like Gears of War can count as a single player, linear game. It also happens to be one that I like. I have played it online but prefer the single player experience because of it's story.
Japanese games that have a western counterpart to compare with, will usually be "harder" for the western player. This is especially true in RPG's. When a game is ported to the US it's usually changed so that it can be played through a little faster with less "grinding" for levels. Many publishers have made that comment.
Now though I think we're seeing less of that and both countries have relatively the same game after translation.
I think a remake of FFVII is going to happen. I also agree that if they stick to the original VERY closely they will not only increase the fan base of the FF series as a whole but long time fans, like myself, will also appreciate the work.
The only changes I would like to see are updates to the translation and maybe some additional high level content. I liked the Emerald and Ruby weapons they added to American version when it came out in North America.
As for some of the side story games... I'm not such a fan of those. I do play them but only if the game play looks fun. I would never buy something just because it has characters I liked from another game.
