Preliminary performance readings on 2900 Pro look fairly positive. It is probably being shipped at retail as well. It is a bit noisier, but probably could be overclocked to XT levels. It is just that, a downclocked 2900 XT.

8800GTS 320MB is a decent card though, by any means.

Hey tuksonrider2000, you can include your review to the gamespace frontpage by submitting it to user reviews. Thanks for the evaluation.

Live for Windows PC (or whatever they call it) is still in its inception, so there will be plenty of opportunity down the road to reassess its workings and tweak the settings as to balance out the gameplay or achieve some semblance of it at least. It is true that Vista is being treated as a new platform and seems right now rather limited in not being a wide release. It is a shame that XP users will not be able to play Shadowrun and the fact that there is a subset of platform on the PC irritates them. Not only does it limit potential base of adopters on the PC side, its console origins make it rather impossible for the parity to be achieved across the platforms, starting with the most gratuitous example, the controls. In addition, you may have to purchase new maps on the Internet for this game as well as restriction on the part of SDK release, whereas it was quite accepted that they be released intermittently as a free update or patch. Just think of it as a console port released simultaneously, being emulated on Vista,

MS by at least their own design is trying to make the PC users pay for the features that they took for granted as long as the platform existed, and while it is only a part of overall more streamlined and functional service, it irks them trying to cope with their underhanded appraoch, by relegating them to be more or less a small revenue stream to fatten their bottomline for the MS gaming division. They are catering to the X360 crowd by broadening the audience for their games via exploiting PC gamers, seriously lowering expectations. The only extension of any PC game viable for that cross platform design would be limited solely for multiplayer. The game is not worth its asking price; for a comparative PC online FPS with 12 maps, it might have cost you half its current retailer cost.

PC gaming will be relegated to an official X360 emulator if MS has any choice in the matter. It is not all bad, though, if the emulation is efficient and means that there will be more games to play on this end. Just this process of cross-platform needs to be ironed out and more integral to the Vista service.

This is what I hear from Korea:

Dustin Browder of C&C: Generals fame will be the lead producer.
