I really loved Vice City. It's my favourite in the series.

San Andreas...I never got the motivation to finish it. I'm glad that GTA4 got rid of buying property and stats management, I honestly did not find that fun.

Let's just hope the next one removes friend management -- okay, going out with fake friends once or twice was fun, but after that it just felt like a chore.

There are no flaws in my reasoning, and there are no flaws in your reasoning. This is because logic is based on established truths.

Ninja-Hippo

There are massive flaws in your reasoning in that you're trying to compare something you own to something you dont own, and are trying to forge an arguement based on entirely subjective notions of "satisfied" and "dissatisfied." This is a forum where sales, price, exclusives and number of AA/AAA games are the measures of quality. You cannot simply make a thread saying "i own a wii and a pS3 and think the PS3 is better therefore it has won the system war."

I will say that his "reasons" are good for why he picked a PS3 over a 360...he just didn't like the 360. But that doesn't mean the PS3 has won the war.

[QUOTE="Augustus117"][QUOTE="mstc_Q"]

I bought a Wii.

I got dissatisified with the Wii.

Family gets a 360 with Rockband.

I decide I hate rockband

I try other 360 games during my visits to my family.

I think a lot of them are good or decent, but most of the ones I like are multiplats.

Tried Halo 3, got bored after 1/2 an hour.

MGS4 is released.

Bought a PS3 for MGS4.

Love my PS3, I love PSN, I love the other games I got, I love backward compatibility, and I'm satisified with my purchase.

As far as I'm concerned the PS3 won the war.

mstc_Q

I bought Wii.

I found the Wii to not be enough,

Went out and did research on most of the games I liked. Found out that most of the ones I like are multiplatform or exclusives for the 360 (except for KH and MGS4).

Bought a 360 for Gears of War, Halo, Lost Odysey, a couple JRPG's that were supposed to come out for it, and for the fact that almost everyone I know that owns a console owns a 360 and not a PS3.

I love my 360, I love Live, I love the other games I have, I love being able to play some of the old xbox hits that I missed, and I'm satisfied with my purchase.

As far as I'm concerned, the 360 has won the war.

That's your logic. I don't own a PS3,I like the 360, therefore the 360 wins. Yeah, right. (By the way, I do like the PS3, I just can't afford both right now. I'm just trying to point out the flaws in your reasoning.)

There are no flaws in my reasoning, and there are no flaws in your reasoning. This is because logic is based on established truths.

Okay, so both the 360 and the PS3 have now won the war?

edit: IMHO, both are great consoles and there probably won't be a clear "winner" until much later in this gen. It's harder this gen, last gen everyone knew the PS2 was champ. The 360 was in the PS2's situation this gen, but the PS3 has made a great comback. I think it could go either way, really.

Okami. Okay, I know it was a port of a PS2 game, but just think of the improved graphics and gameplay (the 360 controller pwns) the 360 could give.

[QUOTE="Ragashahs"]i don't get how a developer that is proclaimed one of teh best in the world refuses to program for teh PS3 just becuase it different/hardThugKing6669

So because Valve refuses to program or PS3 they are automatically not good developers? I think it was more of a matter of can we make any money off of this or not. PS3 sales are increasing, so naturally a game development company is going to say, "Hmmm, let's make a game for PS3." Besides which, what's wrong with a developer making games for platforms they are comfortable with. By your logic, you would want a clown to fly you to your vacation destination, because the clown should be able to do it even though it's something different or hard.

I absolutely agree. The 360 is so easy to port games to -- in some cases it's just a couple of compiler flags. Porting to the PS3 takes work and is generally done poorly -- unless they REALLY know what they're doing. Threading is hard enough without having the PS3 Cell to deal with. Developers are learning.

I thought the PS3 was a dead platform as well...but along with Valve, I'm reconsidering it. I thought the 360 was dominating until about when Blueray won the format wars. Otherwise, the PS3 as a platform would have died. Competition is almost always a good thing -- it's just annoying to have so many freaking platforms to deal with.

No one can really say the new executions change the way the game plays and that is a fact. The new game modes are a nice addition and will help crank op the overall package. I jsut hope the mp has more lasting power than the first one. All the first one turned into was a glitchy, shotgun fest.CrazyyyDylan

Amen. Although most people don't glitch nowadays online (and those that do tend to suck). If the game somehow can repeat the single player experience in multiplayer matches (and actually make you use cover), then it'll be great. I'm expecting more of the same, with tweaks here and there, and hopefully better storytelling. I'm expecting epic to learn from any mistakes they made with Gears of War 1 -- it shouldn't flop unless it's pushed out of the development doors before it's ready.

I own an original Gameboy (it's fat and grey, too!), Gameboy Color, and DS. I'm not a huge fan of portable gaming, as I can get mostly the same or better experience on consoles, except for the DS which has completely original experiences on it (for portability, I actually prefer books :P). The PSP is basically a playstation 1.8, so I don't bother with it, and the DS plays GBA games, so if there is a GBA game out there I'd be able to play it in that.

Got mine late July...with GTA4, but within the same week I picked up Halo, Halo 2 (yay for cheap xbox games), Halo 3, Assassin's Creed, and Gears of War.
