Introduction:
The upcoming weeks for me will be a little bit of a Sonic week. A video review of a Sonic game released in the past, and my thoughts on the new Sonic RPG are all detailed in this blog.

Shadow The Hedgehog Video Review
In honour of Sonic Cronicles: The Dark Brotherhood coming out, I figured to review a past Sonic game in the past, in order to show my eagerness for the game. I decided to review Shadow The Hedgehog for the PS2. The reason why I am reviewing Shadow is because the slating of this game both from Sonic fanboys and video game journalists is a tad unfair. Shadow does do a sizeable amount of things right, but also sadly does do a lot wrong to only make it an average affair. Coming soon!

Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood
With the new Sonic RPG (Dark Brotherhood) coming out, I had mixed points of view towards the very first role-playing adventure for everybody's favourite blue hedgehog. Whilst I have no problems with Sonic trying out a new genre, I am worried about the multitude of storylines that is going to proceed through the game. I am worried it will reach the same problems most Sonic narratives have suffered from; overarching the themes too much, then it becomes too silly and complex to follow, Sonic on the PS3 shows that example highly clearly. I hope the plots have the same depth of the Sonic Adventure series, and is epic, yet busy yet also relatively simple to follow too.
I do hope Sonic RPG does have the same energy of the earlier Bioware RPGS, and tieing in with the much loved trademarks of Sonic, e.g. the speed. I am worried Bioware may not understand the trademarks fully, and the gameplay considerably could turn broken.
Despite my neagtive looks over this, I do think Brotherhood may prove to be a solid Sonic game. Bioware is a developer at the top of their game, and them together with Sega could prove to be an everlasting partnership. I have great trust in Bioware to deliever the Sonic RPG he deserves. I am a sonic fanboy, and I really hope 2008 gives him his True Blue magic back
