Now, I could be wrong here but I would have thought the lucky gent receiving said PS3 in Japan would have been Japanese as opposed to Chinese........................:D
each to there own - i wasnt saying that cheaper versions wont work.
but if you want something that includes a mousepad or some kind of cursor controller and something slim and light that looks good in the middle of the lounge, and works the best, then you got to pay a little more..........
I have looked far and wide for definitive answers on this and got lots of opinions and summising..... so here are some definitive answers for anyone looking for a wireless keyboard for your PS3.......
1. Any wireless keyboard with its own usb dongle will work with the ps3, as they replicate the input of a standard usb keyboard
2. Apple wireless keyboards will NOT work with ps3. The ps3 will find the keyboard but will error when trying to pair
3. Logitech dinovo WILL work with ps3 with or WITHOUT usb cradle / dongle
4. And finaly, and the best, microsoft entertainment desktop 7000 (link) - keyboard works great with p3 onboard bluetooth.
took a gamble on this today, and it works great - it even includes a 4 way mouse cursor which works perfectly with xmb and menus - mouse keys and cursor 'ok' key work as X key and esc key works as O key, so moving through menus is simple and quick
and it is probably the best looking keyboard out there..........
and it is half the price of the logitech! (at least here in UK..............)
Hope this info helps out some of you guys!
And technology always works how it is supposed to, doesnt it?
Seriously though, the wireless option was just too slow in practice for streaming movies - maybe because i have tversity transcoding the files on the fly......
I have been lookin forward to this since it was announced - i am a huge fan of clive barker, and the demo just wants me make it more!
wise preorder my friend!
I agree wih pandadude, tversity works perfectly, especially for movies.
I would recommend that, if you can, you network the ps3 with cat5 setup rather than wireless - it streams that much quicker so things start quicker. its just a better user experience that way.
enjoy!
eyetoy was a complete gimmick - but with the power of the ps3 and the chance of video calling and gesture control of the menuthen how could you not buy this?
and with the tv add on, kb and mouse control and sky agreement with sony..... the ps3 will soon be THE centre of media at home!
I had the same question on here a few months ago - I ended up buying an elite 360 to go with my ps3, just for halo 3 and it is well worth it!
The ps3 is definitely the best console of the lot - it sits right at the heart of any media set up and allows you to stream media from your pc - and in a much better fashion and interface than the 360.
My advice.... stick with the ps3 as your main console and use the 360 for decent 360 exclusives such a halo3.
and if you want to get your mates round for a laugh? get the wii - by far the best party console out there!
