Happy Halloween everybody! Halloween has always been my favorite holiday (except for Christmas, but that's a given). In honor of Halloween, I'm going to tell you a story about something that happened at my school last year that I find pretty f**king terrifying (I know that my last post was about something that happened at my school, but a HAVE to tell you about this).
Last year in my biology class, we were doing an experiment in which we were using these special rubber tubes that had holes so small that if it had liquid in it, it would not drain out, but if you submersed it in liquid, the liquid the inside the tube would be able to go through the tube. Eventually, one person said "Hey, it looks like a condom!". We laughed because it did look like a condom. Then this one person said 3 words that I never what to hear a high schooler say again: "What's a condom?". At first we thought that he was joking, but then we were like "Oh sh*t, you're serious.". We than told him what a condom and thank God he at least knew what sex was. To this day, I don't know how he could not of have know what a condom was. Between 4th grade through 9th grade (except in 7th grade) we had a one week period once a year where we had to take sex education. We don't have that bullsh*t "Abstinence Only" sex "education" either. in fact, the instuctor show that alot of the "facts" thaught in "Abstinence Only" classes are false. The only way he could not know about condoms is if his parent's said that he could not take sex education, and that is why we still have AIDS in this country.
...Wow. I went from wishing you all a happy Halloween to talking about how "Abstinence Only" sex education causes AIDS. How the hell did that happen?
