Same thing happened to me recently..... Computer starts up loads checks stuff then tell u to hit F1 to continue when u do turns off, if u wait tooo long its turns off as well. I am almost 100% sure its your mobo because when i chnaged mine everything worked again no problems.

Just to let u all know i live in AUS PC parts are overpriced these are the cheapest i could find for each part.

Antec 900 $175

Lite On Lightscribe iHAS220 $39

Intel Quad Core Q9550 2.83Ghz 12MB $449 

XFX 780i SLI $300

OCZ Rapter DDR2 1066Mhz (2x2GB) $200 

GTX 280 or GTX 260 not sure yet. (260=$410) (280=$650)

Cooler Master Extreme 600W $100

 Total : $1673- 1913

Im thinking about either gettin the GTX 280 or GX2 not sure though. Anyone own both or one of these and would like ot give feedback would be appreciated.

After 4 years my old PC is dying... This is my new PC whihc i intenet to buy soon, but the cost is high im not sure if any of you could reccomend a cheaper place for sussies to buy comp parts.

Case: Antec 900

Optical Drive: Light On 20X DVD RW Lightscribe

CPU:Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83Ghz

HDD:640GB 7200rpm Western digital Caviar SE16

Mobo:XFX 780i SLi

PSU: OCZ 700W SLI ready

Video Card:XFX geforce GTX 280 602 MHZ clock

Ram: 4GB DDR2

Total for local retailer: $1 947

NOTE: Would water ooling be recommended?

Opinions would be appreciated and any insight on cheap places to purchase computing parts for aussies would be too.

Im not a computer wizz but the ram i am getting is DDR3 and normal ram is DDR2, but i think DDR3 runs at a higher speed but, I am not sure. Oh and i changed it to a gtx 280 Elann2008

Case: Antec 900

This came to $1800 on tigerdirect.

This is only my second pc so does anyone recommend a brand for the graphics card. I have changed my mind and will either get the geforce 280 gtx or 9800 GTX.

Yeah i thought about the 9800 GTX but i cant afford 2 at the moment , but ill look into the 260GTX.
