I am deciding on if I should actually get the DSi. It would be my first Nintendo Hanheld since the GameBoy SP. However I can not decide.

I have read gamestop reviews, IGN reviews, 1 up reviews, and several forums but still need help.

I keep hearing all these positive reactions to the hanheld but I can not decide for my self. Nintendo games have always been more child friendly. And I have grown out of the Pokemon craze long long long ago. And am now able to (and enjoy) playing M games. I have not seen many games on the DS/DSi that interest me.

GTA China town wars interests me however the playability (how easy it is to control and how fun to play) I am doubting.

I am also looking at the graphics of the system which are not the most supperior or best in the category of hand held consoles. I had a PSP 1001 but sold it on ebay becuase their were limited games.

So my question is this. Is it worth the nearly $180. Are there games that are fun other than games such as Ninten Dog/Catz (aka G rated games as most of the Wii Games are). Are the graphics atleast some what ABOVE decent standards? Is the console fun overall? Replies that can give some support to their answers would be very helpful (I dont mind the "yes its great" or comment that has nothing to explain why its great but that does not help me very much as $180 in this current day is alot considering many no longer have the oprotunity to spend that much).

What I am considering when I look at the console:

* Type of games (wheter the majority is G rated or E-M rated, their playability, there general fun, etc)

* # of games and # that are expected to come out

* Graphics

* Price

* How long until it is replaced by a more advanced console (including compettior's)

* Features

* Overall general fun.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

What wrong is that, since they initally gave the Feb. 20th date, the community has been so hyped up and upgraded, etc... inorder to play the game. But if they do decide to delay the game to August (which many previewers on the websites have said is unlikely, a delay of mid March -- early April is more likely) then they will upset the community who is already pumped up lol.

They'll probably realease it on Feb 20 and release the patch that actually makes the game work like it should in August.BumFluff122
Hopefully... I bought a Sager NP8660 recently after my HP Laptop burned... and I want to play TS3 on it so bad... The Sims 2 is extremely boring due to the fact that its restricted to the one lot thing and I hate how the son of my sim will die when I play him and his parents are still alive and young...! Gah!

It would be a financial & a reputation catastrophe for EA if its delayed to August (assuming times getting worse). And a lack of interest in the game after such a long period.

I hope the anouncment on Tuesday will say its not Delayed (atleast not for the USA) lol.

This has been floating around for about a week or so, but many Gamestops and EB games are reporting to customers that the Sims 3 has been delayed until August 1st.

This seems unlikely since we're 20 days from release and EA has said nothing about it, so let's keep our fingers crossed! Have any members here heard about this first hand?

EA "evaluating" Sims 3 release date News
News by Tom Bramwell
Today 09:49

Electronic Arts has said it is "evaluating the launch window" for The Sims 3 after European retailers were told to expect a delay last week.

The publisher had previously announced that the game would be released on 20th February.

However, last week several retailers in Eastern Europe relisted the game as "first half 2009". UK retailers - including online giants Amazon and Play - still carry the 20th February target, but EA issued the following statement:

"We are evaluating the launch window. The game looks great and in the near future we'll have more information."

So we wouldn't bank on being able to play it on 20th February.

Last week, EA chief executive John Riccitiello told the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences that his next priority was, "Helping make The Sims 3 a huge success."

Given the huge success of The Sims 2 and its expansions, it's no surprise EA wants to get the third game's launch right. Check out our gamepage for The Sims 3 to see how developer Maxis has got on up to now.

They allso issued a statement that they will have further information on Feb. 3rd (This Tuesday) lets hope for the best.

So far all american sites still say that the release date is 2/20/09. Whereas many European and Australian websites and stores are now projecting 2/27/09, 3/31/09 and one Aug. 1st.

The american EB Games and GameStop sites still say 2/20/09, WalMart's website says 2/16/09 (which is werid), BestBuy says it will be avialable in stores 2/22/09.

Who Knows, I guess we have to wait till Tuesday, Feb. 3.
