I think rainbow six vegas 2 is going to give players what they are desperately missing on COD4 and thats tactics. If your team is communicating your team is probably winning, and if both teams are communicating then its probably a damn good game. I havent gone back to vegas cuz it takes way too freakin long to get into a game.
I don't see Battlefield Bad Company having much impact. The Battlefield series is made for the PC afterall and with only 16 players online on the console versions it really doesn't have too great a chance. Turok? Who even cared about that series anymore when it was on the N64?NicAgent
Turok was a pretty damn good game, it scored very high when it came out. I think the multiplayer on it is going to be just another multiplayer but the single player might just be fun again.
I can definitely see it happening but not for a while now. We've seen great shooters lose its multiplayer community due to new games coming out like GoW and R6V so it's definitely possible which is what I dislike about Xbox LIVE. As soon as a new great multiplayer game is out, people seem to migrate there. What ever happened to those long lasting multiplayers that would last for years and years with a strong population like Counter-Strike, WCIII, Starcraft, etc.? j3v1zzle

With some new shooters coming out such as, Frontline: FOW, Turok, Battlefield: Bad Company, and later this year Rainbow Six Vegas 2; Will any of these take you away from COD4 and why?
I was expecting them to release gameplay footage to boost presales but i guess i was wrong. Why does rockstar have to be so damn secretive. It was cool at first but now its just flat out annoying.
Its because the game is very straight forward and the maps are more open. Like domination for example, its a no-brainer just go get the red flags, same with headquarters. And onthe only game mode (search and destroy)where you have to actually defend somthing, theres no respawn. if they made search and destroy with respawn you would see alot more people talking and working as a team.
theres just too many ways for the enemy team to get to theobjective where as on rainbow six theres usually 2-3 ways to get where they need togo so its critical to tell your partners where they are headed. but withcod4 on the other hand people just seem to go all over the place so theres really no tactics.
i think it should be able to hold me off until GTA4 comes out. after thatmy cod4will collect dust.

you see its not great at all, people have just been brainwashed. its like cigarettes everyone just thinks its cool to say OMG halo when really theres nothing that makes halo so OMG! I must say though big props to the creators for making everyone beleive halo is soooooo great. ill be playing cod4 on xbox live using real gamer skills not shooting aliens hyped up on helium. plus they stole the character from DOOM
