You know when you've watched a really good movie and you're just sitting there going, "Woah"? That's what Mass Effect is like when you beat the game. "Woah".
It's, perhaps, one of the greatest science fiction RPGs of all time (I'd argue that it is the best). It's a space opera (drama in space, whee!) filled with some of the most awesomest sci-fi archetypes and cliches, but reiterates them in such an appealing and refreshing manner you simply go, *drools*.
The big thing about ME2 is the fact it, supposedly, has fixed ALL of the major problems with Mass Effect (and I really mean ALL). Bioware, simply put, has been delivering the best RPGs for the longest time. Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age: Origins are all Bioware titles (and examples of how much they pwn).
ME2 is going to have it all: gameplay, graphics, story, sound and replayability. I'd rather not go into some long-winded description of everything that is going to be in the game, but it's been hyped about since the Fall of last year....So, yeah. Go play the first one, beat it, then go "I wish it was 100x better", and you'll have Mass Effect 2.
