The B market killed itself. Titles that are good rentals or bought used for cheap, were masquerading as triple-A titles and charging $60. The market just can't support that. While the indie scene offers better games for the value 0.99 to $15 average it's no wonder the B market can't survive. I'll predict this, the indie scene is the new B market. And don't take that as an insult to their quality.
It's time WE stop complaining about these ignorant politicians in these forums and start complaining to THEM. If any of these people represents your State, tell them what you think, ask them why they scapegoat our hobby. These politicians usually just go with what other people tell them, WE need to start talking to the politicians and give them a real face not a stereotype.
I just have to add my two cents. I'm really dismayed by the fact no other publisher sees value in the Darksiders brand. With a more stable publisher and a better focus Darksiders can be the Zelda game for people who actually don't like Zelda games, or at least a good alternative. I hope the folks at Vigil land on their feet and someone swoops in and picks up this IP, because it would be such a waste.
With their handhelds being so dominate, I think this is a good idea. Maybe Nintendo sees a future were portable smaller game consoles will be the next step for games being more mainstream entertainment.
This looks good, until at least two years from now, when we all hate Ubisoft more than Activision. Maybe, splitting the games between different publishers is better. Or, best case THQ gets back on their feet.
Yes, let's play the blame game. I point my finger at ethnic minorities for taking my job.
When tragic events like this happen, we look for answers. Instead of doing our research we look for scapegoats. Let the investigators put the pieces together, and put out the report and then act on them. We might see there are many factors at play here.
As a father, I now see this a little differently. I don't believe censoring is the answer, but as a parent I need to be
more aware of the media out there. I can't shield my daughter from everything but I can be there to explain it. That is probably the best defense to take. Also, I have adjusted my media intake, no games or violent media until she is asleep. When she gets older (she's now 2), I'll hopefully be prepared to handle any questions she has. In ten years everything we like might get dissed by her generation. So, I should be paying attention to what's out there.
Fully agreed with everyone ripping off Nintendo. What about the kinect and Move? If it wasn't for Wii those two things wouldn't be out either. So carefully think before you talk.
