Didn't really know too much about gfx and such so
Default (2003 Dell) - ATI (128?) Rage Pro
2006 - GeForce 2 64 MB (firstpc game that needed gfx card- SW:EaW)
2007 - GeForce 7600 GS 512MB (Got into pc gaming with BF2)
The 7600 GS wasn't my best choice but I wish this dell had a PCI-E bus instead of AGP.
Good 7 series cards are actually quite expensive and hard to come across these days. I might get the 3850 for the AGP bus if I can't get the money for a new computer.
I was looking at that same motherboard the other day...However I would recommend something with 1 more PCI-E slots for crossfire (ati) or sli (nvidia) otherwise that set up looks pretty good. The only iffy thing is the processor. Its good if you're going to overclock because its 45nm but other wise I would get the E8400 for non-overclocking. I'm also not sure how much of a performance gain you would get with quad-core at this time but the E8400 is solid.
Orange box on 360 has issues with TF2 finding matches too. I don't own a 360 but when I go over to my friend's house its a b*tch to find any matches just on quick play. Personally I find myself on the side of PC gaming just because of the massive catalog of awesome titles and fanatastic hardware and mods, but I have made a chain of goodness. PC>>PS3>>XBOX360>>WII
It is the PS3's hardwares fault not the developer. It requires the devolper to learn how to make the most of it...Although the topic title is sort of vague...Is it the developers fault for bad graphics? Yes. Is it the hardwares fault for having a learning curve? Yes.
