Owning games for a system you already have is way better than owning a system that you can't buy games for because you are out of money.Riverwolf007
Who said I'd be out of money? I'm just trying to figure out which is the better choice to put a gifted $300 towards.
Assuming that the PS3 is not going to see a price drop for awhile, I'm somewhat tempted to get my foot in the door now, wait for the upcoming good games, and use the $300 to buffer the impact of the cost. I can always grab a 360 later on for $400 or less, and possibly a better one too if the new revision is released.
If I get the 360 instead, I get a decent library of used games, some good ones coming up soon, great multiplayer network, and I get it for $100 . . . but that means that sometime in the near future I'll have to plunk down $600 for a PS3 (unless you really think there's going to be a price drop by the time FFXIII comes out).
Also, if you want to take games into account, I'd be more apt to spend additional funds if I got a 360 right now, since there is a bigger library of games that I would want to plat than the PS3.
Ok, I was just given $300 to put towards my console of choice.
I've already got a Wii, so do I use this $300 to slash my investment in a PS3 in half, or do I use it to get a $100 Xbox360? Given the current game libraries for each, the games soon to come out (especially exclusives) and any potential hardware revisions/current hardware issues/price drops, which would be the better use of the $300 as of right now?
