I have a strong feeling this will get 9.5, Its single player is more like Halo 1 it has 4player co-op replay ability out of the wazoo which mags love when reviewing. Will have best multiplayer features in a console game ever along with saved films forged maps and custom games. IE you can actually edit your own powerups and set rules to win matchs meaning unlimited game typeseven after matchmaking gets boring.

This may not get game of the year but it will score AAA

Here's the deal with Halo when Bungie started halo they had a lot smaller development team they released a game that incorporated a good story with an ok single player game but the meat was in multiplayer. It was the fun weapons and vehicle physics along with co-op that made the game what it was.

From a console perspective coming from the back of goldeneye and the slightly better but also disappointing perfect dark (frame rate issues) Console gamers got halo with the ability to LAN multiple box's and play 4 on 4 with vehicles and other goodies. Level repetition was used to increase single player game play that's just what developers did those days when you aint got a big team you can only do too much.

Cue halo 2 lots of hype new features continued story and add in some novels which increased the fan base. Some argue halo2 wasn't as good as halo and was rushed which Bungie admit they didn't have the time they wanted the team was growing lots of new people working on the game but it still scored high due to the ability to play online. I didn't even touch the single player and have played halo2 for 2 years. Like it or not the game has last ability. When ever you make a competitive FPS see counter strike or quake you're going to get a huge following add in match making and you get why it's rated like it is.

Now Halo3 they've had more time the team has gelled together they have more money and a massive outsourced testing centre so they can tune the map design. They still have great match making but add in 4 player co-op the ending to the story better graphics a save film editor and then custom game editor like forge(think star craft and war craft custom games)you've got a AAAgame all over again.

I expect more to play halo than ever before I expect this to be the best rated yet and for it to brake sales records. Prepare for the year of halo! Try some multiplayer come 25th you might just like it.

Why is it hard to believe that the flagship title that's now a massive franchise doesn't deserve the hype? I never even bothered with single player Halo 2 but i still rate the game AAA played it for 3 years online that's more than any console game since golden eye. And saying it's for casuals is plain naive since I used to play a lot of counter strike, Quake arena and UT online. Why would a pc FPS fan go to lesser controls? You tell me probably because its good fun and community based.

I never cared for MGS I think the first game sucked so didn't bother with the rest, Final Fantasy??? Bored me. Gran Tarismo??? Nah car sims aren't for me boring devil may cry? wow suckage. Do I think these games don't deserve hype hell no if you're a fan of one of these games I can totally see why people can't wait for MGS 4 its next gen it finishes the story adds more features .......wait just like Halo 3.

Lets face facts graphically its good not great but game play wise its 4 player co-op this will score the single player high and get me playing it again period. Second multiplayer we know the beta was good now add all the extra stuff they never showed us add in new weapons customizable characters the vehicle and zombie style game modes. Then add in the clan features plus match making and ranks top that with sharing videos and machinima videos that will be made and finally sprinkle with the customizable forge mode where you literary create your own multiplayer games and share them too.

Your looking at a 9.5 at least from game spot hate on it all you want but face facts its hyped because its the best multiplayer experience on a console ever has been since Halo 2 still is now and Halo 3 will top that. Simple dispute it find a better multiplayer game for consoles with the features it has resistance? Close but nope Gears? nope rainbow 6 ? Nope all good games don't come close though sorry..... There's your answer!

What annoys me when reading about halo is people seem to blindly follow the game while others straight out bash it but both are over looked. The fan boys hype the game no end and take no criticism and the haters probably haven't played it but still get around to saying its a mediocre fps.

I played Halo1 when I landed on Xbox I didn't own an Xbox I wasn't that impressed sure it looked great had great physics and the co-op single player was a blast but multiplayer was sub-par because I could only manage 4 player with all the vehicles and size of maps this screamed for 8 or 16 player but i just didn't know enough Xbox owners so i stopped playing.

Hardcore fans praise halo1 for its balance and speed it fits into the hardcore competitive FPS players category such as counter strike, quake and unreal it's a twitch shooter with cars. For me with out the internet it was just another console golden eye potential but I couldn't realise it.

Queue halo2 it landed no intension of getting it none what so ever but when I finally got to play a copy of my friends realised it was online and allowed guests i bought it and still to this day play it and I haven't bothered with the single player once. Single player to me is the same old same old but Halo2 while not as balanced a bit too newbie friendly with its auto aim changed FPS gaming on consoles. It was and still is the only true multiplayer game on consoles worth playing it changed console multiplayer like golden eye did back in the 90s. What was better? Nothing everything else was sub par even gears of war can't play ranked games together difficult to set up games with friends. Take rainbow6 play one round doesn't switch the teams doesn't keep the score of more than one round cant play ranked games with friends its all crap.

So enter halo 3. If this plays like halo1 has more features than halo 2 for multiplayer and includes 4 player co-op (now single player is worth playing again) this could live up to the hype it might take another 3 years from my life.

So sure its newbie friendly some people don't like the art style the single player tends to suck after a while it doesn't nothing particularly new and graphics aren't the uber l33t but for a multiplayer console FPS nothing comes close and it doesn't look like anything will for a long time.

So please go easy on Halo it may not be the best sure but it set the bench mark for console games online I wish other developers would start using that as a basis for their games!

Stop with the random Molyneux bashing if you knew where he comes from you'd understand why he talks all that hype its becaues he has great vision to changes games he's one of the guys keeping the industry from going down the EA route. Since he left bullfrog after EA ate them up ironicaly he formed Lionhead sure Black & White wasn't as good as he said it would be that was uber hyped as the second coming but it was different. Fable was also good just not what he promised and same for Movies.

Thing is Lionhead didnt have the money time or man power to create his vision check out past games
