It's a shame to paint all reviews with 1 big brush. This series has an consistent issue, the "unlimited" factor can serve as a positive point as well as negative. It provides completely open solutions for those with creativity, but for the ones that lack imagination, it's an easy, repetitive game. If you read the review with an open mind, instead of "the game I love must get a 9 or the reviewer is a CoD fanboy," you'd see where he was coming from.I love Scribblenauts, but I don't find the game to be encouraging or rewarding enough for those who choose to be creative. Even so, I don't find it any less enjoyable, a 7 is a fair score based on his review.
@moyshirow @pcty @longlivelubu You know that I was kidding, right...? We call ourselves losers because we are so into these virtual worlds that we feel the need to come here to argue about it. It's pointless, no matter how you look at it. But it's fun, that's why I do it.Gaming aside, we have good jobs, can afford a house and all consoles, I'm sure a lot of people here do, too, but that's completely off topic.
I meant the winners of System Wars, a pretty pointless place... In real life, we all are pretty much losers, spending time on the internet, voicing opinions about why Halo 4 is or is not awesome, lol.
Exactly. When are people going to realize that the real winners in System Wars are the people who own them both... It's not like Sony or MS will pay you for calling their competitor crap.
Bulletstorm was awesome!! Too bad most people don't really appreciate it, I guess barely anyone understood that it's not meant to be played as a pure FPS...That said, I was horrible at the game, haha, I suck at coming up with new ways to make the enemies suffer.
@SirNormanislost @k0k066 Yeah, I think most FPS fans know what they want. They want more or less the same thing with with epic campaigns, well designed MP maps and pretty graphics, and in that sense, I think Halo 4 definitely delivered. The production value of Halo 4 is quite amazing, and that comes from someone who wasn't even a Halo fan to begin with. Heck, I thought Master Chief was one of the lamest game characters, but completely changed my mind when going through 4.The MP is also "new" with customization. Fans of RPG (me) may think "pff, look at what WE have," but customization makes FPS fans roar with excitement, apparently. All in all, I think 343 did their best, and I certainly believe that a 9 is deserved. I mean, Halo is a big shoe to fill, and for them not to disappoint the majority of fans, in itself, it's already a success; whether or not they added anything new is another story.Btw, Dragon Age 2 is absolute crap. I still played through it 3 times just because I'm a huge fan of Origins, but I cursed the entire time I was at it.
@k0k066 In my opinion, FPS is the most difficult genre to "improve" in terms of gameplay, especially when a series has already refined its shooting mechanism so well (or it was great to begin with). The only FPS game I can think of that tried doing anything other than point and shoot is Bulletstorm, yet most gamers have no idea how to play the game the way it's intended to be played. You cannot compare a FPS to a RPG, nor can you compare it to an Action Adventure game, because the potentials and expectations in said genres are way too different. Comparing Halo to CoD is fine, but to AC is a quite a bit of a stretch. Plus, AC only got less than a 9 because of the bugs.
MGS fans, please pay attention, this game isn't called Metal Gear Solid for a reason. It's called Metal Gear RISING. The word Solid isn't even in the title. If they were going to make another stealth game, why not just stick with Solid Snake? Plus, PlatinumGames IS know for action-oriented games (Bayonetta, Vanquish and the up-coming Anarchy Reigns, all of them are fast action) and they are pretty darn good at it.
If you aren't happy, that's fine, just treat this as a spin-off and look somewhere else.
