You said a mouthful Ben!!!

I have been doing a Bible study called "Stepping Up" by Beth Moore, it is about the Psalms of Ascent and it is totally amazing!!! While doing this past week I read something one of our founding fathers wrote when the USA was very young and protected by God, we sure need some politicians who think this way and practice what Ben preached here. Here is the paragraph he wrote:

In the beginning of the contest with Britain when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayers in this room for the Divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered...And have we now forgotten this powerful Friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need His assistance? I have lived for a long time(81 years), and the longer I live the more convincing proof I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it possible that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it." I firmly believe this, and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall proceed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel.

I thought this was an awesome statement and something the candidates and politicians have somehow forgotten and need reminder of this..so Hilary, Barak, John and every other governmental leader need to remember this and what our country was founded on.

Ok, had to get that off my chest..LOL! SO here are a few pics of my sweet grandbabies!!!(***My son is getting married soon and there is a new grandchild on the way so I am told!!***) And Yes....Blessed Easter to you all and have a lovely Good Friday and remember..Jesus is risen, alive and well interceding for us at the righ hand of the Father!!! God bless you all!!:)

Just A Praise!

"Here I Am To Worship"

Light of the world, You step down into darkness.
Opened my eyes let me see.
Beauty that made this heart adore you hope of a life spent with you.

And here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you're my God,
You're altogether lovely,
Altogether worthy,
Altogether wonderful to me.

King of all days,
Oh so highly exalted Glorious in heaven above.
Humbly you came to the earth you created.
All for love's sake became poor.

Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you're my God,
You're altogether lovely,
Altogether worthy,
Altogether wonderful to me.

I'll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross.
I'll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross.
And I'll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross.
No I'll never know how much it cost to se my sin upon that cross.

Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you're my God,
You're altogether lovely,
Altogether worthy,
Altogether wonderful to me.
So Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you're my God,

Good Morning everyone!!!! I just have to praise Our Lord and God, if I didn't the Word says the rocks would cry out and I don't want no rock crying out for me!:D It is still really hot here ..91 degrees on October the 8th but a cooling spell is supposed to arrive this week..we are still in a drought..I am totally praying for rain..so the leaves will turn and I can enjoy my favorite season. Busy Busy Busy!!!

So Busy!!! I looked over my tv.com account and realized it's almost been a month since I blogged  but I have been so busy with church and stuff. My sister and I have been trying to get to church every Sunday, Sunday night and Wednesday night, plus a Beth Moore Bible Study called Breaking Free every Thursday night until Nov. 15th(guess I will be taping a few shows). We also have a thing called supper night where a group of 3-4 families/people get to gether once a month from our Sunday school group and have a meal and fellowship together...it has been so much fun, but yes you guessed it...busy. My sister works mon-fri and even has less time, I am going to volunteer at a place called Hope Unlimited which helps out women in crisis with pregnancies and children, I am looking forward to helping my other sister Tammy since she works there. Also there was tragedy where my sister(Donna) works, a girl she works with at the hospital in PACU(recovery room) commited suicide Friday night..it really gutted her..and we went to the funeral home with a Lord's Prayer framed picture and fall flower arrangement for the family..the line was very long and it was an hour and a half before we were able to speak to the family. It is so sad, she left an eleven year old son, I feel so bad for her family. I can understand feeling hopeless at times and I just pray what satan meant for evil , God always means for good. Praise God, He is forever faithful. I hope all are well and I am sorry I haven't been able to comment as many blogs as I would like but know you are in my prayers. God Bless you all...Love ~Bekka:)

Decisions, Decisions!!

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA but life gets in the way and sometimes you haven't anything to say, I am not so sure what I have to say is of much importance either but here I go anyways. :P I was going over my list of shows and deciding which showsI am most looking forward to this season and came up with a list. I am really looking forward to fall (my favorite season, love the colors!) and we are having a Will Graham(Billy Graham's grandson) crusade here on September 14-16 and I amlooking forward to that as well.:) So here is my list of top anticipated shows(new and old) for this fall season:

1. Boston Legal...just because Denny and Alan are so funny and it has some of the best dialogue of a show on TV presently.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

2. Supernatural...because Dean and Sammy show what family means and sacrifice means for family(and they are cute lil hotties...what?! Im old not dead:P )

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

3. CSI:NY....One of the best of the CSI spin-offs because it is so gritty and it has some real flash as well not to mention Mac, Danny and Flak...lol :D

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

4. Dexter...because this show is cutting edge(no pun intended) and has a terrific ensemble cast...Michael C. Hall plays Dex to a tee.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

5. Pushing Daisies...Lee Pace is adorable and I became a fan when he was on that great but too quickly cancelled quirky show "Wonderfalls".

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

6. Life...I became a fan of Damian Lewis after I saw him in Dreamcatcher and this show looks to be funny.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

7. Bones...I have so missed this show while it has been on summer hiatus. I love the camraderie and chemistry of the characters..plus David Boreanaz, what's not to love? ;)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

8. CSI...I am looking forward to the minature killer arc to be finished and to see if Sarah is back or not...plus William Pederson will always be one of my favorites(He has been a hottie since To Live and Die in LA IMHO :P )

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

9.Heroes...I am looking forward to seeing if the second season is as good as the first. I am not sure if the characters will be back because I would really miss Nathan and Peter(I have no clue whether Nathan took Peter up high enough to prevent their deaths or not, hope so). :)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

10. Criminal Minds...I want to see how the show does since Mandy Patinkin has left and Joe Mantenga is being brought in. Hopefully it is a strong enough show that it can survive the loss of Jason Gideon.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Right now those are my top 10. The shows I could give a hoot about are Cavemen(what a dumb idea), Bionic Woman(sorry but it's been done ..isn't there any creativity and imagination in Hollywood TVLand anymore?), Private Practice( I just don't think Grey's is strong enough for a spin-off but I could be wrong), Lost(This show has jumped the shark in my opinion...maybe they could actually have Henry Winkler on there and he could re-inact that for us..I would watch that..lol):P. Well...I know it's my opinions and I just wonder what yours are...maybe you can change my mind about some of these (Good luck with that!) ;)

I sure hope everyone is doing well, you are in my prayers, and i hope God blesses you all and keeps you safe in His loving care today. I may get back to my 70's blog sooner or later but I needed a break from it. Congrats to Noah, Iphigenie, and QB..sorryI missed it darlings but my nephew needed me and my sister and I could not be online that day. Hugs and Kissses anyways! :)

Now for some fun....LOL!

We interrrupt this blog for this special bulletin: Who's Speedy?

Ok I have interrupted the 70's blogs because I have a situation here..I am sorely confused over who the real "Speedy" is...You see we had this legend in my hometown named Speedy...well let me show you...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

A bit of Speedy-history for you...

Speedy was a black man found during the 1937 flood and was embalmed by the original owner of Hammock Bowles Funeral home, they moved him around on roller skates, and had him dressed in a tux. When I was a kid, we would go see him, down on 7th Street at the Funeral Parlor.

Actually, Speedy was dead before the flood happened. He was already embalmed and kept in a closet but the floodwaters washed him out. He ended up being counted as one of the casualties.

It took 66 years, but Charles Henry "Speedy" Atkins was finally buried in Paducah, KY. "Speedy," as he was known by admirers, was a well-preserved corpse that had been kept at the Hamock-Bowles Funeral Home since he died in 1928.

He was kept mostly in a closet at the funeral home and brought out for tourists who wanted to see the body of a man who died 66 years ago and was still well-preserved. The funeral home did not charge people to view the body.

Speedy has been a media celebrity, having appeared on national TV several times and been featured in newspapers across the country and national magazines--including JET (Dec. 10, 1964).

Speedy was the subject of a successful experiment by funeral home owner A. Z. Hamock, who mixed a few chemicals to create a unique embalming fluid that preserved Speedy the way Egyptians preserved mummies. In the 1920s, funeral homes usually had to keep bodies for several weeks while the families, who were usually poor, raised money for the funeral. Hamock died in 1949 and never revealed the secret embalming fluid.

Uhm..ok..I swear it's true!!! Now my problem arises because of these 2. Now who's the impostor ?Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

1951 The famous baby-faced character Speedy Alka-Seltzer was born featuring an Alka-Seltzer tablet body with hat and "effervescent" wand. Originally known as Sparky, his name was changed by a sales manager to reflect that year's promotional theme, "Speedy Relief." The Speedy Alka-Seltzer character was created in 1951 with the original working model standing at just 6 inches tall.

1954 The most famous commercial jingle sung by speedy Alka-Seltzer aired: "Down, down, down the stomach through Round, round, round the system too, With Alka-Seltzer you're sure to say, Relief is just a swallow away."

1979 "Plop, plop, fizz, fizz. Oh, what a relief it is" was introduced. The jingle became one of the most recognized in commercial history.

Now what about this guy? Aribeeee Aribeee Ondelay!!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And Eminem thought he had problems with Slim Shady...sheesh...Now will the real Speedy please make himself known? Can ya'll help me out here? I guess I am gonna hope for some speed reading and speed writing from ya'll.;) Ofcourse we don't wanna confuse this Speedy with Speed(Keanu Reeves movie) or Speeding(Sammy--I can't Drive 55--Hagar). Well I am not as fast as I used to be ...so I am gonna just sass-shay( ;) ) outta here...God bless ya'll lil boogers!:D~Bekka

TV affected us growing up more than our parents did (unless your parents
didn't allow you to watch TV). We learned how to spell relief, what to do to
stains, what to like and dislike, and what we wanted to buy. We innocently
sang and mimicked the tunes of Dr Pepper, Oscar Mayer, and meow meow meow meow
Meow Mix. Even if you try to avoid mainstream culture, advertising always makes
its evil way into the brain and replays itself anytime you need to use the
product, or during just about any moments of possible silence, through the use
of rhymes, reason, and bad show tunes. A few of these may seem as if they were
only yesterday: Morris the Cat (9-Lives cat food); I love my calendar cat;
