Ni No Kuni

Ok, so it's been 5 years since I last did a blog post, which I guess is a long time, people have probably moved on, got married, had kids that kind of thing, so maybe I'm just doing this for myself, self indulgence is cool though.

Anyway, on to the main reason for this blog post.

I've recently been playing a game called Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch. My advice to you PS3 gamers out there; BUY THIS GAME! It's awesome, a work of art and just an amazing game. I've pumped so many hours into it mainly because I'm just wondering around, doing fights because I don't want to complete the game too fast and then have nothing fun to play (although Metal Gear Rising comes out on Friday) plus it's good to morph your little familiers into their next form!

I've had my say now anyway, so if there's anybody out there still using this here website, then read these words of wisdom and maybe hit me up or something, tell me your problems, or maybe point me to your blog posts, I love a good read.

South Park, Max Payne & Movies

As some of you might know, or not, I'm a massive fan of South Park, and Season 12 has been awesome so far. I can't say I was that big a fan of the Britney episode but the rest have been good, they're on another level compared to the other animation shows in my opinion, although I do like American Dad also.

The most recent episode was a nice little dig at the WGA, and it also had some of the Internet's most popular stars, which I thought was quite funny. One thing I have noticed though is that they seem to be ditching the straight comedy, in favour of episodes with a more serious tone and only a little humour, which I have liked, as it's more a dig at culture and society, which no other show is doing, so it's quite refreshing.

Anyway, on to my next point. Some of you may know that a Max Payne movie is being made, when I first heard about this, as a huge MP fan, it was an orgasmic feeling, that was until of course, I looked at the cast list... Mark Wahlberg as Max Payne, oh dear **** God, he's one of the worst actors ever, he's been **** in everything he's been in. I just know this Movie is going to fail, big time.

Why is it so hard to make a movie out of a game? Not one has been good (unless someone can prove me wrong on that) and why is that? Because they always have the worst staff imaginable. Can't they for once have a good staff working on them so we can have a decent movie tie in? Please?

Girlfriends, Games & A Dilemma

Ok, so here's the deal, my brother has recently got a girlfriend, and every weekend he goes to see her. What's the problem I hear you ask, well, this could lead to a Dilemma, as written in the topic title, see what I did there? Yeah? I incorparated the topic title, aren't I a good writer?

Anyway, as I was saying, this could be a problem, because there's only a window of 4 hours to play games after he comes home from work before he goes to sleep, but he spends majority of that time catching up on what's been going down on the Internet. So this is where I link the story, if there's only a max of 4 hours game playing on weekdays, but he spends that time on the PC, then the only gaming time would be the weekends right? But as mentioned before, he goes to see his girlfriend then, so that time to taken up.

So where does this leave me you might be asking, well, if he's not spending his time gaming, then there's less chance of him buying games, because what would the motivation be, apart from buying the games for me to play, which of course isn't going to happen.

The only way to solve all this of course is to kill his girlfriend, but I'm not that kind of guy, so I guess I'll have to come up with another solution, a solution that doesn't involve me paying for them....

Tagged, 5 Things & Level 20

Ok, So I've been tagged by StarFox-Elite I was hoping that I'd be too unknown to be tagged, but I think a certain Swannzie has played a part in this.

Anyway, here's 5 useless facts about myself for your boredom.

1. This is the first time I've been tagged, and hopefully it's the last.

2. I've never won anything in my life, I guess I'm just an unlucky sod, as evident by this tagging :P

3. I live in England, and hopefully I plan to leave one day.

4. I'd love to go Japan, mainly for the hot asian women but also the culture looks good.

5. Erm, I'm a big fan of all things Max Payne related, as my avatar suggests.

I suppose I have to tag 5 other people now, erm, I choose (not said in a Pokemon way) hmm, everyone has been tagged already, so I'll skip that part.

Anyway, on to my final point, I've hit the dreaded level 20 mark, I've been told that it's a test of commitment, so I'll be working my hardest to level up, at least the level name is cool though :P

Swannzie, Popularity & Censored

Swannzie, Popularity & Whores

I was doing some calculations yesterday and came up with this simple equation.

Forum posts = Popularity

Obviously there are other factors you can put in there, such as if you're a Moderator, or a member of the female species, but generally that theory applies.

Apart from Swannzie it would appear, only 4000 posts or so, but his popularity is booming, he's like Jesus, or something, everyone wants a piece of him, such is the quality and grace of the man they call 'Sawann'. I feel like a disciple of his, seeing as I know him personally, I actually go to sleep at night with a smile on my face, and that's not because of anything happening under the sheets, oh no, it's just the Swann effect.

The same can't be said for my own profile, I'm about as popular as a ginger stepson, so I'm going to have to work on that, because as we've seen on those American teen shows, popularity is everything, and if you're not in with the 'in crowd' then you should be looking at ways to get into it.

My other point is the people who have been here less than a year, yet are already like level 28 or something, so you look at their stats and realise that they're post/blog whores, and have somehow managed to rack up a staggering amount of posts. Now, don't get me wrong, that's what the forum is there for, and I'm all for contributions, but haven't they heard of Quality over Quantity, much like I have done myself? Only a small amount of posts, but each one has affected and helped thousands of people. So I think everyone can take a bit of inspiration from myself, and pass it on to others, afterall, I'm just doing the good work of Swannzie.

I think everyone can learn from the words I speak.

Easter and Eggs

First off, Happy Easter everyone!

Now that that's out the way, I was wondering what kind of Easter Eggs everyone got, and whether it's different in other countries to what we get here in the U.K

I myself got two Smarties eggs, which I have to say are the best Easter Eggs anyone can

Anyway, just answer the above question and you'll get a free egg*

Changing Times?

With the release of the Nintendo Wii, and the following success of it, is gaming changing its focus onto the untapped market?

It's proven to be a good move by Nintendo, and stands to make them a nice piece of cash, so I'm wondering whether Sony and Microsoft will follow suit.

I mean, it'd make good sense, money wise, because they wouldn't have to spend lots of money developing the latest technology, they could just stick with their previous efforts. Also, they wouldn't have to spend money on the games, they could just make arcade type games and sell them to the new members of the gaming world.

Obviously, they'll still be a market for the hardcore gamers, but will games go backwards in time to cater for those new members who potentially have more money to give?

Or can we all fit into this ever growing market?

Has Gaming Lost Its Soul?

In our house is an Xbox 360, yet I don't find myself playing it at all, only when my brother pesters me to.

Could it be that I'm getting older and gaming doesn't appeal to me anymore? Not sure, I certainly still anticipate the release of games, but when it comes to actually playing them then it seems as though something is missing...

A good sign for me as to whether a game is good, is that when I close my eyes, I still see the game, but I just don't get that anymore, apart from recently playing Guitar Hero 3. It's as though games have ditched their souls for sexy graphics, much like movies have done, where they just throw a couple of big explosions together and skimp on the storyline.

This current generation of gaming has also disappointed me, I was expecting longer games, but for developers these days, they spend all their time on the online aspect of the game. Now, don't get me wrong, online gaming is popular these days, but if I spend £30-40 on a game, I expect the main campaign of the game to be fully loaded and to last longer than the last generation of gaming.

I just hope that GTA IV lives up to the hype..
