Album: Evisceration Plague
Artist: Cannibal Corpse
Ok, so the album art is kind of lame, but nothing can be lamer than KILL's album art and the album art doesn't even really matter in the first place. Corpsegrinder's awesome vocals are back and he sounds more polished than ever as he fills the album with deafening screams and low pitched growls. Lyrically this is Cannibal Corpse's most competent album by far, they make much more sense and are much more coherent than in previous albums. The bass player is absolutely crazy as always, the absolute best in the business in my opinon. This is some of the drummer's most creative work and he really stands out here especially when compared to his repetitive bore-fest on KILL. The guitar work is complicated and intricate as always, but a little less technical and more melodic this time around, although it's still just about the farthest thing from melodic death metal you can find. They still sound like Cannibal Corpse so they aren't ruining their image, but at the same time I appreciate the added melody. All the solos are great except for the one on "A Cauldron of Hate", which was just incredibly lame, he essentially went through scales really fast. My favorite tracks on the album are "To Decompose", "Carniverous Swarm" and "Evisceration Plague". One of my favorite Cannibal Corpse albums and I managed to get an autographed copy of it, I highly recommend it.
Bottom Line: One Of Cannibal Corpse's Best, 5/5 :D.
