My brother, hormones jumping, visited various porn websites. Somewhere around there, my brother found a page indicating how many viruses the computer had, and instructed him to download this anti virus now. Concerned, he did as he was told, and it scanned "a thousand viruses." and told my brother to buy this program to eliminate them. Thank goodness my brother is cheap.
Now I come over, and I find said adware. Also concerned, I used my real anti virus that I bought for 60 dollars ( CA anti virus). No virus popped out, which clearly marked this as a nasty adware that needed to be deleted. Since it didn't show up on my anti virus, I ran my spyware and attempted to delete it myself. Sure enough, after a scan, I found the guy, and deleted it from my system. Somewhere though, the nasty virus is able to reproduce itself and come back to haunt me despite my efforts.
I then run the computer in safe mode, and attempted to solve this problem once and for all. It took me roughly 5 hours or so, but the anti virus and spyware scanned the computer thoroughly, and once again deleted the nasty virus. I log in to my normal window, and the virus still persists.
I call the company regarding this issue, and they want me to pay 20 additional dollars to fix this problem that they should've done in the first place.Note to self, don't buy the most expensive item just because you think it's the most effective.
