How about: Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World? (I would think it is everyones favorite 2d mario :))

But to be serious SMB3, it is the first one I learned all secrets and spent the most time on. SMW is very close second.

I have been playing touhou for over year now and am looking to try something new. So I was wondering if anyone knows any good danmaku games besides the touhou series? I have tried a few others but nowhere near as fun, im sure there must be something else good out there?

It is hard to say. I think it is tie between SFC and SNES. Although they are the same system:P, Many of my favorite games where only released on one or the other.
