Don't forget Good Old Games either (GOG) they often have some good deals on games there as well.

It sounds like the issue isn't so much the career itself, but that you haven't found activities that are capable of interesting you. Sort of sounds like depression to me (though I am in no way qualified to diagnose such a thing). I would suggest finding things that excite you, whether it be sports, some form of art, a recreational activity, or even topic that interests you intellectually. A career is but one thing that support or be an interest. There are two ways it can do that: either by being an interest itself or acting as a feed for your interests. If you cannot find a career that interests you, it might be better to think of a career as something that feeds your interests, something that allows you to attain those things that excite you.
Perhaps most importantly, if you are feeling down, you need to find a way to convince yourself that your going to find something that interests you. The very act of being depressed can make things that would normally excite you seem dull. It is important to strongly feel the desire to find something interesting, which is something only you can make yourself do :).
Every morning unless field work occurs, then I tend to shower after work or at night when I finish the ~3 hour drive to my town from the work site.

I think it is impossible to have a review that completely lacked personal opinions. You would be reduced to discussing graphics quality, frame rates, and other such subjects. Anything else, including story quality, environmental quality, and the enjoyment factor of the game is entirely subjective. A reviewer needs to inject some personal opinions into a review to make that review informative.
However, what opinions a reviewer injects into their review is up for debate. Think of it as a scale, from low level opinions on one end (say entertainment value) to high levels on the other (say opinions on the political correctness of a game). Different people will have different perspectives on where along that line reviewers should be in the level of opinions they allow into their reviews. While some of you may feel that the opinion level should be low on the scale, some, such as myself, will think it is okay for them to have more strong level opinions in their reviews. Many of these views are just fine, we're all going to have different perspectives on this and that won't change. In many ways that's actually a good thing :).
What is ultimately important is that discussions about it remain civil and respectful to all involved. Things may get a little heated at times, but we need to maintain that air of civility for it to be productive.
There have been some great discussions on here, with excellent points on both sides of the debate. There has also been a few moments of acidity between posters. Thankfully they have been rather minor; if we can keep it that way, we'll hopefully come out of this with a greater understanding and respect for each other's opinions and of the matter as a whole :).
Games or game series that had especially memorable stories for me were:
-MGS series
-Tales of Symphonia
-FF10
-Chrono Trigger
I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones that I could come up with right now. :P
Hi all, I'm pretty new here (registered about a week or so ago?) and just wanted to post an intro message. I've been a gamer for almost my entire life and enjoy nearly every game genre out there. I'm a big fan of role-playing games (both western and jrpg styles), turn-based single player strategy games, and the ocassional shooter.
Beyond games, I enjoy a variety of different activities, including skiing, golf, bird watching, and photography (still very much an amateur here). Career wise I'm still in school, gunning for my second degree in the sciences and praying I can figure out how to use it doing something I enjoy.
Not sure what else to write; introductions are always so hard. If any of you have any suggestions as to interesting threads to talk in or ideas for ways to spruce up my profile let me know.
Happy gaming all.
