[QUOTE="The_Game21x"]Not really. Granted Dawn of the New World is not a new entry like Vesperia, but the guy that wrote the review at one point said "the game would look great if it was made ten years ago" or something to that nature. That proves that he was judging the game to a ridiculous standard that fans of the series would not do themselves, therefor discrediting the whole point of reviewing the game as it should have been done for the fans and not held to such a high standard as hd graphics.Well okay, I'll take IGN's supposed bias into account but the scores don't change much when you go to gamerankings (73 vs 84) or metacritic (67 vs 82) so my point still stands.

I've been reading tons of comments from the game board and overall fans of the series really like the game and feel (like me) that the IGN review was a joke overall.
Vesperia btw is so good that it should be the standard by which all JRPGs are judged by. It's that good imo.
The IGN review was pretty bang on, actually. It wasn't written from the perspective of a fan of the series, it was written from the perspective of an unbiased game reviewer.
And the fact is that the Tales series was once fresh and new, but little changes from game to game. If you're not a fan of the series, it does feel a little dated now. Couple this with the hardware of the Wii and you have a game that really feels stuck in the past.
