Great games are hard to come by.

It seems that great games are harder to find for the PS2 these days. Sure there's GTA:SA, but eventually my other gaming tendencies need nourishment. None more than my thirst for the first-person shooter games. I do own an Xbox, but I only use to play Halo and as a paper weight. My point is that there are no Halo caliber games on the PS2 and I'm not sure if there ever will be one. Another thing that gets me upset is when game developers make multi-platform games, and then makes the PS2 version extra crappy.( i.e. Ghost Recon 2) It just doesn't seem as if there will ever be a fair agreement between game developers and Sony. It's also about time for an upgrade for the PS2, because the graphics need to be on par with the other next gen consoles. It's been 4 years sony its about time that you can up with a new console. The handheld is nice but we need more fire power. Also game developers STOP MAKING CRAPPY GAMES FOR THE PS2!! It's time to get beyond the disappointments(Kill zone) and on to the future.

The PS2

Never in my life have I ever experienced such anguish with any gaming system in my life. I am speaking of this, because my PS2 just destroyed my copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. This isn't the first game its destroyed, its just the last time I can put up with it. NBA Street, Madden 2004, and Medal of Honor: Frontline have all fallen victim of my PS2. I am slightly releaved that there is a newer version, but I'm not sure if im ready to invest 150 bucks into it. I paid 300 dollars for my PS2 when it came out. I have built an amazing collection over the 3 1/2 years that i've owned. Now some may say 4 games out of 160 is not that bad. But those were 4 of my favorites. I cannot tolerate the disk-read errors, the freezing up, nor the destruction of games any more.

8.3 vs 9.6

These are the ratings for Ace Combat 5 and GTA: SA. Ace Combat 5 was not given justice today! The person that reviewed the game had absolutly nothing bad to say about the game, yet it recieves a score lower than its predicesor. WTF! Who ever decide to rate this game an 8.3 needs to have their head examined, because they obviously have some screws lose somewhere. On the subject of GTA: SA, I believe that is the right score for the game, and the series has a perfect sweep in rank at 9.6. I am looking foreward to getting my hand son this game very soon. But I can't let go of the Ahole that decided to score AC5 so low. This game gave me goosebumps everytime I saw the preview. I was constantly checking screenshots and videos everyday. And to put it frankly I wouldn't even be a member of Gamespot today if it hadn't been for Ace Combat 5. For shame on the staff at Gamespot. They really need to re-evaluate this game and give it the proper score, regardless if it borrows some concepts of the original game. You don't here people complaining about the similarities between GTA: VC and GTA: III. Because they are 2 different games. AC4 and AC5 are two different games. One is wayu more in dept than the other one. And to say that they are the same is absurd. Who in the hell died and made them the king of deciding the premium quality of the game. Let me stop while im heated so that I can calm down. I will not rest until Ace Combat 5 is given its just dues.

Pre-Order

There have been a lot of questions raised about the date for which Ace Combat 5 and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas hits store shelves. To answer that question, those of us that were smart enough to pre-order the games, will get our copies before anyone else. i know for a fact that EB will not shelve GTA:SA until all the pre-orders have been taken care of. It will probably be a week until it actually hits the shelves. AC5 will hit shelves probably 2 days after the release date. Now to end all the moans and groans, if you pre-order these games they should be ready for pick up on Monday, October 25. I know that I can pick up both of my copies on this date. Basically you can choose which date in that first week that you want to pick your game up in. If you decided not to spend the extra $5 bucks then expect to pick it up some time next week. Its really not that big of deal if you can wait 1 or 3 years then you can wait an extra week, or until the extra copies come out.

Which is better?

When it comes down to it, which game is better. A game that I've waited 3 years to come out, or a game that is lilterally going to own my soul. With all the hype surrounding these to games, it has become increasingly difficult to choose which game is superior to the other. I mean sure its easy to say that GTA: SA is better because its the most anticipated games today. But what about the underdog. What about the game that day after day I watch the trailer and the game footage, just to catch a glimpse at what is to come. In my humble opinion Ace Combat 5 is better, because the fans of the series are drooling over his new fast paced, neck breaking, thumb crunching megalith that is peaking over the horizon. I've waited for this sequal since 2001 when I beat Ace Combat 4. Not to dog out GTA: SA, it will still be one of my favorite games. But if all I had was $50, I would rather spend my money on sweet satisfaction, instead of a cheap thrill.
