Bioshock 2, Prequel?
Take-Two Chairman Strauss Zelnick said that Ken Levine, head of former Irrational Studios 2K Boston and 2K Australia would be involved with the project. The sequel will be developed at 2K Games 2K Marin studio in Novato in California under Ken Levine's supervision.
And while just an official announcement has been made sans further details, reports suggest that "BioShock 2" will unravel events that happened before the original game (prequel). It will depict the downfall of Rapture -- the underwater utopia that went kaput. However as nothing's been confirmed, the game may well turn out to be a sequel.
Gears of War 2
The Gears prequel will officially be titled "Gears of War: The Pendulum Wars", but that wasn't the only big Gears news of the day. Although it's far from definite, there's a good chance that we may be hearing some news on a sequel to the best-selling Xbox 360 game of 2006. Preorderable now.
Info on "The Pendulum Wars" : Leading up to Gears of War 1
The main cause of the Pendulum Wars was Imulsion, a phosphorescing, low-viscosity fluid discovered by an oil-exploration drill. It was unusable until a woman named Dr. Helen Cooper created the Lightmass Process, which enabled production of cheap energy from this previously useless substance.
The full implementation of this process guaranteed a new energy source and led to the elimination of the need for hydrocarbon and nuclear-based fuel. However, the extremely low price of Imulsion energy and the massive loss of revenue and jobs in the traditional energy-producing industries soon caused Sera's world economy to collapse. The few countries that discovered an abundance of Imulsion below their land shortly thereafter found themselves at war with the many nations who were not as fortunate, and so began the Pendulum Wars.
The Pendulum Wars ceased on what is called Emergence Day, when the invasion by the Locust Horde ended the practice of internal Human warfare... thus where Gears of War 1 begin..
Fable 2
Fable 2 is an upcoming role playing video game for the Xbox 360, which is being developed by Lionhead Studios and will be published by Microsoft Game Studios. It is a sequel to Fable and Fable: The Lost Chapters. Announced in 2006, the release date is set to late 2008.The game will take place in Albion, 500 years after Fable's setting, in a colonial era resembling the time of highwaymen or the Enlightenment. Guns are still primitive, and the entire area is free roaming and is more developed, with huge castles and cities in the place of towns. Unlike in the original, the player may choose to be either male or female.
Fable 2 is rumored to be 10 times the size of the Original!
A co-op mode was announced and shown at the 2008 GDC. The mode of co-op is somewhat similar to that of Gears of War; in that players will be able to drop in and out of other player's games at will. The co-op was mentioned as being 'couch' co-op, meaning that it was not online and instead only 2-player local. The host player can set certain rules; eg. how loot gained is split between the players and if friendly fire is active or not.
