Well as I put the final touches to my PS1 RPG Collection and my Fighting Collection I must say its been a lot of hard work and a lot of bargaining, searching, bidding, and finding good deals. But its all been worth it. I will soon have every major JRPG and SRPG on the PS1 by the end of the month and with the addition of Mark of Wolves and Marvel vs Capcom I will finally be able to move on to the PS2 RPG collection. I will have to be more strict with my PS2 collection though. My standards were games that recieved at least a 70% at GR for the PS1 RPGS. I'll try to stay above that with the PS2 with making some exceptions of course.
So how do I go about collecting? Here's how.
- Always be able to bargin and look for the best and lowest prices. Cracked cases are okay you can always replace those. Directions and everything else you can't. Don't spend your money foolishly. Always look hard and thoroughly for the best deals and the lowest prices.
- Have a hook up. A lot of my friends or people I know don't usually like or care for older games. An easy way to obtain games is to buy them off of people and or friends who simply would just take quick cash right away.
- Know people that can recomend good games. For example. I ask Kage for info regarding the fighting genre. I also ask a lot of others who specialize in a specific genre.
- Use eBay and Craig's List. Find good deals and make quick and fast use of the BUY IT NOW feature if its cheap. Buying it right away for cheap is better then trying to win in a bidding war that will almost surely bring you into a price battle.
- Search BlackBonds List. This list has 9 plus pages of online video game store and I put it to good use. I routinely check this to see if games are no longer back order and are available to buy at cheap prices. With all of these sites combined you are sure to find a good deal some where.
Here's to the start of the PS2 Collection. Ah yes the games should be real cheap right now seeing as how we are going into the PS3 era. What a nice time to take the jump forward 8)
