@bhagenbeek: Dude, this game got a 6/10 and you can even read what individual scores mean. According to the Gamespot rating system, a 6/10 means 'GOOD GAME'. So what the heck you even talkin about
Thanks for the article. It was really a nice reading.
However let me add my little piece to the puzzle. I mean, I just want to share my feelings about the Alien franchise.
While Alien needs to do something new, a reboot is a tricky business. I think that I liked Alien most when it was just a simple thing. A band of human workers finds the greatest killing machine in the universe and tries to survive. No experimentation, no silly plot twists, no absurd storylines, just few people occurring on an unknown planet full of unknown terror. Nothing else. Let the Xenomorphs being Xenomorph, the horror that just exists for the sake of existence. It has evolved from a simple form to the enormous brutal spieces. Just like on Earth when something evolved to a unique entity because it was somehow isolated from the rest of the world. Let it be this and nothing else. No robots, no architects, no synths, gods, whatever which hurts the most important thing about Alien - the unknown about it.
What I loved about the first two or three movies was how filthy they were. All the locations werent clean, not even the spaceships. Everything felt so cold, harsh, filthy, freezing which itself greatly added to the overal atmosphere, it wasnt only about the Xenomorphs after all. The whole world felt so depressing, quietly, dismal... Even before the first Alien or even the smallest sign of a threat appeared on the screen, you as a person watching the movie did not feel happy or exciting. You felt somehow depressed from the first seconds of the movie. Choking depression.
And cmon, make a movie with Goldsmith's refused Alien score!!
@climhazard5: i consider Twilight Princess one of the worst Zelda games..it was just boring...the princess and the passages during which can be controlled by the player are brutal generic and boring
