I had to RMA my recently purchased GTX 670 4GB FTW edition and the new one is coming in this Friday. I checked out EVGA's step up program and it would be around $120-140ish to step up to a 680 4GB. Question is, is it worth it? Thanks for any input.
Alrighty, so I'm putting together a new build and this is what I came up with: http://secure.newegg.com/Shopping/ShoppingCart.aspx?Submit=view
I'm still struggling to decide on the 7950 or a 670. I'll be using 1920 x1200 for my resolution.
It's an awesome monitor and I love it. I do a lot of graphic design work so I need a solid monitor with accurate colors and good back lighting. This monitor has all that and it's a great IPS model for the price. I sit about three and a half feet away from mine.
looks pretty good the only thing i would change is that 660ti for a gtx 670danxxxWould it be worth the extra $100? After shipping and all, I'll be putting in a little over a grand into this. So far the only computer gaming experience I have is on my 2-3 year old eMachine with an upgraded graphics card. Even then, it's not a huge leap and I'm still pretty limited on what I can play. I put in an HD 5550, so I'm sure that almost anything is going to be a big upgrade lol. I'd like to know this as well. ^^^
It's been quite a while since I've played pc games seriously and I've gotten pretty far behind on the current hardware knowledge. Basically I'd like to either upgrade what I have or just start again with a new build since mine is pretty old (2008). Here's what I'm working with:
- 4870 512 MB
- E8400 @ 3.00 Ghz
- 4 GB DDR2 RAM
- 750 Watt PSU
From what I've been researching, it looks like either the i5 2500k or 3750k is the way to go CPU-wise. My current mobo doesn't support that socket type nor does it support DDR3 memory. I really hate to be -that guy- but I'm not too sure where to branch off from here. Any suggestions on a set up that isn't -too crazy- would be extremely helpful! Thanks.
