I went to a sports bar in Dubai last night hoping to catch some of the morning college games and what did they have? Soccer. Yes, soccer. Now soccer is good but they had over 10 screens in there and surely they could have had at least 2 screens on ESPN. Still, it was a good night 'cause I got to hang out with my friends. I haven't gotten to do that in a while due to work.

I need to find a place here that shows games. I don't wanna pay for satellite or cable TV 'cause I know it would just go to waste; I'm hardly ever home long enough to get my money's worth.

Yes, the inevitable is happening. I've been talking to my friend and it looks like I'll be getting back into FFXI. For one thing, I will actually save money by playing FFXI cause I won't have to buy a game every month like I do now. Also, I don't have to upgrade my PC for FFXI. Yea, it goes against my nature not to buy the latest and greatest in PC gaming but my financial status has me in a strangle hold.

The strange thing is that I don't really hate my job. Although I work nearly 8 hours straight, it is fairly entertaining (I work in e-mail and live chat support for a web hosting company) and I must admit, I seem to be learning a fair amount regarding DNS issues, domain name registration and all sorts of web hosting related topics. It's definitely something that I could work with. I need to keep my skills polished and update them whenever possible (much like the Sims, actually) so that, hopefully, I can get a fat raise or even a promotion by the time my one year with the company rolls around.

I wanted to upgrade to an Athlon 64 X2, NF4 mobo, 2 GB and 7800 GT but I just don't have the money. I start my new job tomorrow but I won't be making anywhere near enough money to upgrade any time soon. I'm not sure if I'll be able to sustain my PC game lifestyle much longer :(

Why are drivers in the UAE such inconsiderate bastiges? I went to Grandsys in Sharjah today to buy a wireless modem router and some asshat parked right behind me. I had to wait 10 minutes, which isn't too long, but the principle of the matter is that this asshat couldn't be bothered to drive around the block or down the row of parking spaces. Instead, he had to park right the **** in front of the store.

Anyway, I didn't flip him off cause I'm a nice guy. Moral of the story: don't be an ass.

Finally! I applied for it during the first week of July but I didn't get it until just a few hours ago! I'm excited. To celebrate, I downloaded the FEAR and Indigo Prophecy demos, ATI graphics drivers and a few other things that I've been dying to get. We shall see what else I find...
