I like most of you was shocked at the price of the Playstation 3. The price seems very high for a video game console. Also having 2 SKU's also sucks, but at least the HDD is standard unlike Xbox360's. So the 2 SKU's are something I really don't like but it dosen't look like a bad idea in Sony's case. I hope Sony can reduce the price of the PS3 an announce the new price at the Tokyo Game Show this summer. I think having the price so high will drive many customers away. The Blu-Ray in the PS3 seems like a good investment, since a stand-alone blu-ray player is around $1K. Also the announcement that Sony will have Linux installed on every HDD, and that it will be programmable without having to pay for the licensing is a big + in my book. I hope Linux will make the PS3 more than just a video game console. All these features justify the $599.99 price tag for me, and some other gamers/programmers as well, but I don't think the public will be too happy about this. -BloodAdo GD INC.
