So Friday night, me and a few buddies meet up at Denver Skatepark. My friend, Drew is a manager at this huge grocery store. Appearently, the grocery store has been closed because they are knocking down the buildings and building apartments there in a few months.
Drew still had the key to the building so we thought it would be fun if we went inside and had ourselve's a little party. I bought pizza and drinks and we all brought our skateboards. The smooth linoleum was just begging to be skated on. When we got there, we made it a priority to make a makeshift skatepark. We stacked tables against grocery carts and made a huge funbox.
After the first hour or so, we grew weary of skating so we found some bolt cutters and started cutting all of the locks off of the abandoned employee lockers...BIG MISTAKE. Most of the lockers we opened contained spoiled food and other disgusting paraphenelia. One locker (ironically the hardest to open) even contained used feminine products. We stopped shortly after. Also, we found a big red chicken suit, my brother put it on (I'll post a pic when I can).
After being traumatized by cutting locks off of lockers, we found some of the store's motorized carts (for shoppers with limited mobility). We then realized that the carts required a key to operate. I said screw it and used my skate tool to open up the cart's console and hotwired the + and - wires to start the cart. It was really a whole lot of effort for nothing, after digging around in the back, one of my friends found the keys to the carts. Oh well. After we ran the life out of the pitiful excuse for a battery, we needed to do something to do while the carts where charging (plugged into the wall).
It was my idea to play hide and seek. With the shelves, nooks and crannies still intacked, this was the perfect place to play hide and seek. What made it even sweeter was, there was a camera in the back room that panned to different parts of the store (my friend said that the tapes where already taken offsite so nothing would be recorded). It was fun because the person who was "it" could sometimes see where somebody was going to hide before the camera panned to another part of the store.
We played Hide and Seek for about 3 hours. Shortly after, we decided that it was getting late.
We cleaned up the huge mess we made and vanished into the night.

My brother, Matt the Scrub tries on the chicken suit, Mad Mike Martinez helps as VHS watches

The finished product.
