Yeah, I definitely wouldn't consider Graces F turn based. Playing on the higher difficulties especially, it's fast paced (not random button smashing, though) action... you do need to plan out your attacks/strategy.

That being said, it might have the best combat system on a controller ever for me. Incredibly fun and takes a lot of skill/practice to really master (not really what the TC asked for, though).

[QUOTE="Mcspanky37"]

[QUOTE="almasdeathchild"]eh thats just very overrated. it's good but the combat is sooooooooooooooo bad

almasdeathchild

The combat may be outdated but overall its just a better RPG, no arguing that.

btw Morrowind is not overrated

if i have to hear tes or something with an rpg everyone pretty much jumps on morrowind. it's overrated like ever other tes. but that one just gets more love then the others

Yeah, no.

I liked both, but they were disappointing after Morrowind. The only improvements in the series since that game are the combat and graphics (everything else is... worse), neither of which made the series great in the first place.

Morrowind with Skyrim combat (which is still.. meh) and graphics would be amazing.

[QUOTE="Eikichi-Onizuka"]Very much so imo. I'm 35 hours into the game and enjoying it a lot.Syanide312
How's the story? I'm surprised because it sounds like so many JRPGs these days have very cliche or boring stories, at least according to reviews

The story isn't the strongest the Tales series has offered, but the combat/gameplay, imo, is. It's probably my favorite Tales to date, maybe behind only Symphonia (nostalgia).

I wouldn't pay attention to reviews on a JRPG, ever.

Also, if you enjoy a challenge the game on the higher difficulty surpasses that of the Souls' games for me. Only makes it that much better.

Recent games? I'd throw Tales of Graces F out there. It's more technically "challenging" on the hardest difficulty than the Souls' games, to me.. at least, harder to master.

At least it could compete with 6 years old consoles  Wiiu will be like wii. 'who cares about graphics' is what you'll be hearing from every sheep when next gen launches. Instead of hyping next gen features that pushes the tech, its a controller that is gonna be hyped like waggle was on wii lmao. I'm aware that Darksiders is just a port but it could at least run in 1080p? Nop :lol:silversix_

I'd say most Wii (exclusively, especially) owners don't care about hardware, so this news, while somewhat disappointing for Nintendo fans I'm sure, isn't a deal breaker. I game on every platform, and I can honestly say at this point.. "who cares about graphics". It's sad games like Crysis and Metro are considered "good" (don't kid yourself, we all know why).

Give me software.

No. Because that group of gamers that honestly goes out of their way to label people "hardcore" and "casual" are actually douchebags. jg4xchamp

Ever referred to someone on these forums (or anywhere else) as a lemming, cow, sheep, or hermit/claimed superiority based on what group you are a part of?

Because that's even worse.

I would, there are definitly games out now that are better quality of games, however they are not as ground breaking as OoT was when it first came out. There's a lot of people now saying its outdated, combat could use some work, bla bla bla. When deciding what games are considered best of all time you need to keep in mind the time period that the game came out. If not, every new game could end up being the best game of all time just because it is technically superior to games from 10+ years ago.

Best post in this thread. It is (and will continue to be) widely regarded as ONE of the best games ever created, with good reason. Disagree? Thought it was mediocre? No problem.. but you're in the minority.
