90 K Gamerscore!

:)

Feel free to add me on 360: Gamertag is ADF86

Cant wait to pick up DA2 next week. I thought the Demo was just OK but, im a big DA fan.

The Dark Night- Heath Ledgers Swan Song

I seen The Dark Night the other week. I don't want to talk about the movie. We all know it lives upto the hype and I haven't seen one bad review on it or heard one person speak negatively about it. I want to speak briefly on Heath Ledgers performance in this film. Now, I have seen many movies. With all the great actors from Clint Eastwood to Robert Redford. But, this has to be one of the best performances I have seen in awhile. His voice, actions, expressions, etc. are dead on. He is what you would expect the joker to be if he existed in real life. Which is a very scary proposition. It seems fit that his last performance is this great because he would of been hard pressed to top this one.

Beer Pong- No Change That To Pong Toss

Now, we all know the Wii has been a smashing success, making use of a new motion sensing controller, challenging developers to create new games to use this new controller. Well, Nintendos controller has just stepped through the frat house door and stepped up to the table for a game of Beer Pong. What shocks me the most about this is that Nintendo is actually allowing this WiiWare game on their console. Not that I am concerned over the substance of this game, there games with worser themes out there. I think we all remember XXX. Is this game a step in a different direction for Nintendo? Nintendo focuses on Mario, Metroid and others for its gaming sucess. Simply put, their not the same as Sony and Microsoft. GTA IV didn't come out for the Wii. Nintendo does it a different way then its competitors and they are shining at it.

Well, in November "Frat Party Games" will come out for the Wii only. The last few sentences in this article ( http://wiinintendo.net/2007/08/30/wii-beer-pong/ ) say that the original name of the game " Beer Pong" has been scrapped and replaced with the name " Pong Toss" due to fears of public backlash over the game.

There has been some backlash, as expected and understood.

Many have expressed their concerns over the game according to this ABC report on the game ( http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/AheadoftheCurve/story?id=5333140&page=1 ). Many say that this game will have an negative influence on the children who play it. Yes, people of all ages can pick up this game because of its Teen Rating. Now, many teenagers know about the game and many have probably played it at a party or a friends house. The feeling is that this game promotes drinking and will introduce many to that same idea. I can see where those people are coming from but, I can see the other side of the issue. Young minds can be very impressionable and this game can lead them to make bad judgements. But, I think most will take this game for what it is. A video game. Could a game drive a young teen to go to a frat party and try this game, yes it could. But, if underage teens are going to drink they are going to drink no matter what. It happens every day and will continue to happen whether this game comes out or not.

Battlefield: Bad Company

Love this game! Going to keep it as a rental for a bit. The single player is great and fun, they don't punish you for dying and blowing up walls and killing enemies is pure fun. The story is great as you go along collecting gold bars and gun collectibles.

Red Wings - Blackhawks to play at Wrigley Field

Well, it keeps getting better and better for us red wings fans.

The NHL has announced that the Wings and Blackhawks will play on New Years Day at Wrigley Field in Chicago. The defending cup champs versus an up and coming blackhawks squad. This will be a hot ticket, if i can get my hands on them I would drive to CHI for the game- anybody whose going, dress warm !

Game Pass from Blockbuster

I decided to do this until school starts back up again-yes, wasting my summer in front of the TV. Shouldn't I be outside playing catch or running around or doing whatever kids do these days? Well, I think I am getting a good deal here. The blockbuster close to my house is a GameRush store. They have a wide variety of games but, I have a few problems with Blockbuster.

1. They dont't have enough copies of the games, especially new ones. This is a gamerush store not a regular blockbuster store. Six copies of NCAA Football 09 wont do it , im sorry. They have a ton of copies of GTA IV, which makes a lot of sense. I don't know how the system works but, Blockbuster needs to focus more on this area.

2. They need to start decreasing their last gen games. Too many gamecube, xbox and ps2 titles. I am not for pulling all the titles for those 3 systems, but just decrease them to make more room for the Wii, 360 and PS3.

3. Blockbuster should focus way more on games, gaming is a bigger industry than the movie industry. They have competitors like Hollywood Video and others. So, appealing more to gamers would be a great idea. They are working on this though, I have seen more ascessories and players guides on the shelves at Blockbuster, so I give them kudos for that.

I am happy with my GamePass purchase though. The thing with Blockbuster is you cannot go there on a Sunday. There is nothing. Going on a Thursday or Friday is ideal. I have rented Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga and returned it and picked up Army Of Two.

Red Wings Offseason

The red wings shocked the hockey world and signed all-star forward Marian Hossa to a 1 year deal worth 7.4 million. This was all Hossas doing, he wanted to be a red wing and came to red wings GM Ken Holland with a 1 year offer. This gives the wings yet another top forward to go along with their already strong forward units. If you remember this is the same Marian Hossa that had a great playoffs with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The wings tried getting Hossa at last seasons trade deadline but, he went to the pens instead. All is goofd though, and Hossa is a red wing.

The Red Wings also signed another former penguin in goalie Ty Conklin. He kept the penguins from sinking while goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was out with an injury last season. He is a solid goalie and will compete with G Jimmy Howard for the backup spot behind Chris Osgood this season. Here is a photo of him.

The wings also re-signed D Brad Stuart from last season. He bonded well with Niklas Kronwall as a second defensive pairing in the playoffs. He has finally found a home in Detroit after bouncing around for a couple of seasons. The wings are also taking F Val Flippula to salary arbitration. He should be a awarded a deal somewhere near 2 mill for this coming season. The wings are also looking into re-signing Darren McCarty, Aaron Downey and Chris Chelios. Veteran F Dallas Drake is expected to retire after winning his 1st cup with the red wings.

The Detroit Red Wings 2008 Stanley Cup Champions

A very late blog-I have been busy.

I think most of us know what happened by now, what a great ending to the NHL season. My prediction was correct, Henrik Zetterberg won the Conn Smythe Award as playoff MVP. Congrats Z and to the rest of the Red Wings on a terrific season. Dallas Drake who signed a 1 year deal with the wings prior to the season should go out on top after waiting so long to hoist the stanley cup he finally gets to. Nik Lidstrom became the first euro captain to win the stanley cup. I will have a blog up shortly on the NHl Awards- The Red Wings did great with a few red wings collecting some hardware. Here are some pics from the red wings cup win and their parade-I was at the parade in downtown detroit last friday-it was absolutely crazy-over a MILLION people showed up to show their love for the red wings.

Ninja Gaiden 2

I loved the first Gaiden for the Xbox-i loved the combat and the difficulty

But, in Ninja Gaiden two tecmo decided to amp up the difficulty and mess with the camera a little. These are my only to problems with the game. I love all the plentiful boss battles and the bloody battles that take place. Cutting limbs from enemies is just great. More weapons have been added in Ninja Gaiden 2 which only improves on the gameplay and violence.

The AI can be very cheap at times. Sometimes I don't even have a chance against the enemies, The camera is not horrible it just hurts the gameplay a little making it harder to see enemies in important situations. Also, the Environments can be horrible at times but, the bloody gameplay is still great and is definitley worth any gamers time.

P.S.- the story makes about... zero sense

-I still love running on water. So cool and always fun to do.

-The gore is just great. So much blood both red and green.

. My Rating: 8.3
