The "I saw that coming from 20 miles away." of 11/2/2007. - Rockstar G

All games potentially published or developed by 2K Studios, Rockstar Games or any daughter companies of the infamous by law Take Two Interactive, they're all, as they say "Put on hold."

Now, while most senior editors are now getting that little elavator tune, fans of games such as Grand Theft Auto are yet to be set waiting for an even longer time. I was seriously hoping that Thompson's "influences" were cut off by that final deal they've made last summer, which involved Thompson not being able to hurrass Take Two in any way anymore. Positive or Negative, he's off limits. All I got to say to that for now is "Flowers for Jackie?".

Anyway, this is truly a sad day in video game history.

As a response to Senator Leland Yee's warning, Tim Winter, president of the Parents Television Council (PTC) has called upon the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) to reinstate the original "Adults Only" rating on Rockstar Games' Manhunt 2 (PS2, Wii, PSP). On top of that, Mr. Winter listed a couple of other PTC demands and possibly hinted at the kind of trouble that could befall the ESRB should the rating body fail to meet his demands regarding Manhunt 2.

Mr. Tim Winter also urged the ESRB to suspend all reviews and consideration of any other games published by Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive, noting that the two "have breached the trust of the entire video game rating system." Mr. Winter also demanded to know exactly what it is that Rockstar Games edited out of Manhunt 2 in order to keep concerned parents in the know. Furthermore, Mr. Winter added:

Unless the industry as a whole, including the ESRB, steps up to the plate immediately and decisively, there is little doubt the video game ratings system will face the specter of government oversight.

With a lawyer, a senator, an advocacy group, a non-government organization, and now concerned parents breathing down the necks of Rockstar Games and the ESRB, it looks like all the ballyhoo regarding Manhunt 2 won't be fizzling out anytime soon.Article Regarding Winters of the PCT

And Winter has his success. All games are put toa distinctive halt, untill further notice. While 2K Games has it's luck, as it's a 90% stand-alone operating company. All games of Rockstar Games, of all locations are delayed until further notice. Now, that isn't exactly all that bad. Aside from Manhunt 2, no games made by Rockstar Games are gonna get released anytime soon.

Hell, the first Rockstar Games' video game to be released is Midnight Club 4: Los Angeles. January/Febuary 2008.

Seriously, who didn't saw this coming? Rockstar Games' been pushing the limits of the law since 2001. By the game, they gave a major push to that bar. And with Manhunt 2, they've hit the wall. It was a matter of time. Their games became more adult, in the sense of sexually explicit and gore. From a standard hooker-without-a-screwing-animation(GTAIII) to the actual screwing animation(GTASA Hot Coffee). From being able to shoot dudes(GTAIII), to being able to mangle living flesh with a Combine Harvester(GTASA).

They linked GTA with Manhunt throughout various voice communications through both Manhunt and GTA games. Obviously, Manhunt was supposed to be a GTA-like game, but in the sense of just killing in the way of Mental Psyco's would do.

Ever since GTAIII, they've had Jack Thompson on their backs. With SA, Thompson had all oppertunity to charge and commit as many attacks as he could. This was a simple time-line...

GTAIII, freeform cop killing, screwing hookers etc. GTAVC, now being able to become a local coke and crime lord along with it. GTASA, topping all of that with being able of actually preforming sexual games(when using cheatmodes). Mix that with Manhunt, and you've made enough reason to piss off the officials. Thompson was successfully put on Non-Active, but it costed alot. Tim Winter, who ain't related to Thompson in any way, he's got all the reasons to kick Rockstar Games' ass. And badly.

He's got the ERSB, Thompson, Senator Yee, Oklahoma State, NY Mayor Bloomberg, PTC and a horde of mad Floridan attorney's to back him up.Man, this could be the end. And hell, we all could've seen it coming from 20 miles away.
