I got my 360 on April 28th (my birthday), and got my first game, GTA 4, the next day. I had loads of fun with that game and have logged over 100 hours of play time. That was my major game for about 2 months, until June when I went out and bought COD 4. That was so-so for me, possibly because I didnt have LIVE. I still don't for the next couple of days.

Overall, if you have LIVE, go for COD and GTA.

If shooters arent your thing, I can't really help you, unless your a sports nut.

Dude this sucks. But, on a lighter note, you have over 2 months until Gears 2, so you should have it back by then.

:)

And yes, every console purchased after they announced the 3 year warranty is automatically given a 3 year warranty against the RROD, and a one year warranty against all other technical issues. I think you can extend it for 100$ though.
(The cash amount may not be correct for your region , as I live in Canada.)

Okay, my personal opinion is to get them both. That may not be an option for you, but if it is, then do so by all means. They are both great games with HUGE multiplayer communities, and being close-minded and only playing one means you miss out on a great multiplayer experience.

Call of Duty 4 has an awesome, and incredibly time consuming rank system that keeps you busy for months. No jokes.

Halo has a great community, and lots of fun game types, weapons and vehicles. It's also probably the better game for someone new to FPS.

As for the shooting in front of someone while there running thing, Call of Duty is probably better for that sort of thing. Halo contains alot of jumping around, and there is no running. The bast tactic is to just open fire.

Hope I helped!
