Oh and Jeff didn't care how his review was taken judging from it, but it was taken very badly by a company that supports GS through advertising, something that could potentially hurt CNET, and like any good business owner, CNET fires employees for incompetence and harming the business.yoshi-lnex

Your an idiot. You think this action was in the best interest of CNET? Gamespots credibility is gone. How can you trust any review score from this site?Reviewers won't give honest reviews (like Jeff did) because they'll get fired!(like Jeff did)Without credibility Gamespot will wither and die.No credibility ->No Traffic -> No Advertisements -> No Site ->Huge loss for CNET.

Firing Jeff also hurts Gamespot in other ways besides the loss of credibility. The first and foremost being that he's awesome. I will not try to list them but as gamespot employees and fans can tell you he gave a lot to this site.

VIVA LA JEFF!!!!!!!

Oh I'm a jackass for asking questions. Wow that makes you so very convincing. Sorry to say, but that doesn't exactly stop me from wanting to know the reason other then what you all are convinced. Can't go with the rest of you sheep I'm afraid. I have to find the reason. Maybe it is what the circumstance dictates, but maybe.. and there is that slim chance that it isn't. I'm not about to start chucking names out because of it. Sorry there pal.

There is no slim chance, the evidence is clear.

A truly dark day for this site! To hell with Eidos & this site padding it's coffers. You fired a true champion for gamer's. I come to this site for honest reviews andI looked most forward and more importantly to Jeff for honest reviews. Not the kinda padded reviews you get from other site's I'm talking to you "Game-pro"& you "Game-informer".gave Heavenly Sword a perfect score for gods sake. If thats what CNET & it's Advertisers are looking for they can count me out bye-bye subscription. By the way reviews for Kane & Lynch were 7.0 not to far off from Jeff I believe. If you really let Jeff go because you buckled under some game publisher who has not made a hit game since Tomb Raider 2 & time has past it by then not only did you lose a great & trusted employee, but judging by the reaction this has generated here on this site and around the net your subscription will not only drop but more importantly your reputation as a honest gaming site will be long gone. I'm a 1up.com fan boy from now on. I hope Jeff is able to landover on 1up I knowwhomever hires him will be getting a amazing talent. -Stu-

And here is the funny part. If I worked for another site I wouldn't hire Jeff. Not because of his reviews or the fanboys he can bring them. No I wouldn't hire him because he'd have a stranglehold on the company. Jeff will either start his own site or disappear. Because of you all really. Because if he wanted to screw the people over he could say that they're trying to fire him for writing an honest review. Then all of you would rise up and call for blood again. I've seen most of the arguments for why you all are doing this, but yet noone has linked me to something with hard proof that he was fired for a review. Until then I guess my quest continues to either get this off a rumor mill or to find the proof.

EDIT: And I'm well aware he is gone from GS, but the proof as to why is what I'm looking for. No circumstancial stuff.. Hard proof.

This guy is really annoying. People are convicted on purely circumstantial evidence all the time. The evidence is clearly supporting the reason for Jeffs termination being that ofhim giving K&L abad reviewas well asthe loser money grabbing management of gamespot. This guy is probably from some company that is being accused of wrongdoing. Nobody cares what you have to say jackass. Thisthread is about people venting their anger over this outrage. I used to love gamespot. It is a husk of what it once was.Personalities that used to give life to the site are all going away. Jeffs termination is the crippling blow.
