It'll depend on who you ask. I work with a kid who almost exclusively plays Gears, loves it. For me though, I never got into the multi-player. The co-op is awesome, the horde mode stuff is sweet, but the regular multi-player was just never that appealing to me. I don't know why. I love the gameplay and mechanics so you'd think I'd enjoy it, but it always just felt boring and strange. And I do remember there was way too much diving-shotgunning going on in the first.

I really, really don't like it. I wanted to so bad. And then I played it (the first one), and all I could think of was how awful the gameplay felt for me. The only redeeming quality the game had, for me, was the story. It was incredible. So incredible, that I suffered through a 30ish hour run through just to experience it all. But I'll never go back. I actually just sold my copy the other day. And I'm not interested enough to check out the rest of the seires.

Halo Wars is by no means a great RTS, but it is fun, especially if you like the Halo universe. Battle for Middle-earth is crazy good. Man, I miss that game.

When I got my first one I got CoD 2, PDZ and DOA4. The first game I played was DOA4 because I had a friend with me and we wanted to jump in really quick and start playing something. Let me just say here, CoD 2 is great, only CoD game I really like. PDZ is definitley not the best shooter, but is actually a lot of fun to play with friends. DOA4, is awful. God awful. Granted, I'm not huge into fighters. But dear god. Do I hate that game.

I mean it's different for different reasons. Overall, from my experience, girl gamers are pretty rare. I can only honestly think of three girls I know that game, and they don't do it regularly by any means, one doesn't even own any systems any more. So I mean, I've never encountered a hardcore girl gamer, but they definitely do exist. And I think guys just find it a mixture of exciting and/or intimidating when they meet a girl who games.

For me, I still find it exciting when I find out a girl games a little or is interested or is just pro-games (an ex of mine openly hated and bashed video games constantly) but it's not an earth-shattering event, it's just cool and kinda nice. So I would presume guys encounter a girl who's encroaching on their territory so to speak, and they try and trump themselves up and seem like the top-dog, which is just kinda childish.

Also I'm genuinely shocked at the behavior of the guys in the store, that's somewhat appalling that they would act like that, and therefore on behalf of all men gamers, and men in general, I do sincerely apologize. (And props for not liking CoD campaign, it's trash.)

I don't know for sure that I'd agree entirely. But it's for sure up there. Great song, very fitting.

Make sure to read the whole review if you're lookin' at the Gamespot review, I didn't read the rest of this thread so I dunno if ya did. Also, reading multiple player reviews of varying scores is a more accurate source. Just make sure they're legitimate reviews, or as legitimate as can be. It's the only way to get a semi-accurate read out on a game before ya try it fer yerself.

I've got to vote Reach, just exponentially better. It brought back a lot of elements of H2, and good great god that online was out of control.

Wow is it weird that IGN put CE as easiest. That is just not true. Still the hardest, well. I'm in a toss-up between Reach and CE. I need to beat Reach on Heroic and Legendary before I can cast my vote. From easiest to hardest for me it goes:

Halo 3

Halo 3: ODST

Halo 2

and then the tie between Reach and CE. The only reason H2 is hard is because the campaign is so screwed up.
