Because SONY is kicking their ass.... because MS gotta stay on the PS4's shirt tail to feel relevant in Japan....Because without the year head start, a higher price point on SONY's end and the RRoD, MS won't get the fluke SKU numbers the 360 provided last gen this time around; ruining the perception that the 360 was the better choice because of the sells advantage (in the beginning)....Because now they (MS) won't have that chart to lean on, and it spooks them....Because the king is back and MS knows this... I have both consoles now, so it doesn't matter which version I play, just as long as the game I purchase is worth playing period.. They both are what's poppin right now..PS3 got MGS4 now, and the 360 has GoW2..Best of both worlds here people, I'm cool what having both..
