and bioshock on the PC.

whocares9

I fixed it.

What was that problem people were having with the PC version? Something to do with the screen not proportioned right or something like that. Yup, definitely the better version!

[QUOTE="Teufelhuhn"]First off, Warhawk is hardly what I'd call "pretty". Second, the HS demo was very good. As for Killzone 2, you'd do well to read the GS or IGN previews of the game.RacoonusDoodus
what he said. also go to the thread titled "sony has become graphic freaks" or w/e and look at my post, i don't want to re-post it here. basically, no, cows don't ONLY care about graphics.

KZ 2 hype. That's all they talk about.

[QUOTE="JonnyBooya"]Make it a whole lot easier for us informed gamers on a budget choose which HD console to get.... I was a huge PS2 fan and I was on the ropes about which to get, but its pretty much a no brainer at this point.0rin

Is it really? a no brainer eh? Pray tell, how did you come to this "conclusion"? Are you basing this off the past 10 months? I suppose if you want to settle for second best in the long run then whatever.

It sure looks like the 360 is in the lead now. But to say the PS3 absolutely won't do as well, or better in the next year or so, Is simply fooling yourself.

It could very well surpass the 360 in sales, and popularity. But it might not. But to say it's a "no brainer" says you are actually an "uninformed gamer".

I'm gonna go with "smart with their money!" for $500 Alex!

I dunno about you guys, but honestly, what else is there to hype a game on when you know next to nothing about it?

look at Halo 3? before anything about the story was known, people were touting its graphics and stuff as "better than the PS3".
look at Crysis, has any game before been more hyped soely on graphics?

Mass Effect? I STILL don't know what the hell it's about. All i hear is "It LOOKS great!"

So yeah. Almost every game is hyped based on graphics now. Because the first thing we usually get from developers are screenshots/videos. When was the last time you heard of a developer releasing a storyline and detailed character bios before they show any screenshots?

So yeah. It has nothing to do with the PS3. All systems and fanboys do this.0rin

One of Mass Effect's unique gameplay elements involves its conversation system. Previous BioWare console titles such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire employed a conversation system where the player chose from several responses after non-player characters (NPCs) had finished speaking. Mass Effect introduces a new system in which responses to NPCs are displayed and can be chosen before the NPC has finished speaking. This, combined with detailed facial expressions, allows for more fluid and natural conversations, which gives character interaction a cinematic and believable quality.

The dialogue system is a refined, more dynamic version of what you've seen in previous BioWare games. You'll no longer read the lines and select which one you want to say; now you use a dialogue wheel to choose the approach you want to take (bully, bribe, or be nice, for example), and your character takes it from there.[10]

The player can interrupt the speech of another character, and the character will react appropriately to the interruption (as opposed to a system that simply allows you to skip through dialogue to save time). If the player wants to befriend someone, they must wait until the NPC finishes speaking, deterring the player from constantly interrupting NPCs.

A radial command menu, divided into six equal sections like a pie chart, is shown at the bottom of the screen when a conversation is initiated. Each section is assigned a brief preview of the response that will be made, usually a short phrase (such as "What's going on?"). The response is selected by moving the analog stick in the direction of the desired response on the circle and pressing one of two face buttons, depending on the desired action: the X Button to interrupt the NPC at any time, or the A button to allow the NPC to finish what they are saying. The command menu is organized such that each section is assigned a particular inclination (i.e. being nice, aggressive, etc.), so that after players have become comfortable with the system they will no longer have to read the menu, and will be able to respond appropriately, immediately, if desired. BioWare hopes that the innovative system will allow the game to be more cinematic and free players from reading large amounts of dialogue, as would be required with the commonly used system of simply having the player choose from complete, sometimes long, written statements.

As for the plot of the game:

The story revolves around an ancient alien prophecy stating that every fifty thousand years a portal that separates the "normal" universe and a realm beyond opens, spewing out an alien machine race that comes to the galaxy to harvest all sapientorganic life, and the time of their return is approaching. As the first human Spectre - sworn defenders of galactic peace - Shepard's mission is to halt the advancing armies of Saren, a legendary Spectre agent gone rogue who apparently wishes to wipe out the entire human race using Prothean technology and an army of subservient geth. Shepard will lead an elite team across hostile alien worlds and discover that the true threat is far greater than anyone imagined.

[QUOTE="0rin"]I didn't read that, yet.. but I wanted to get in before the fanboys do..

honestly, what do lems have to be afraid of right now?

So far, two of the most hyped games for the PS3 since launch are seeming to be mediocre at best. I'm a pretty strict Cow, but I'm not blind. I can see that Sony's "omg" lineup isn't doing as well as everyone had hoped.

This doesn't really concern me much, since I like my PS3, and the games coming out for it. But I hardly think its something the Lemmings would be jealous/afraid of. and who's to say what 08 will bring for the 360.
thedarkomen

I have no idea what they're afraid of, I'm asking them really. They certainly are showing it through indirect damage control though.

Maybe the wii scared them?

wth are you rambling about, wtf is indirect damage control? you can't just make up stupid words and terms and expect people to take you seriously -- unless what you're saying makes sense, but it doesn't :)

It's when you bash a console to cover the flaws of your own console.

Hmmm, BioShock comes to mind at a time like this. Have any AAA titles to share with us from your beloved future Dreamcast?

.....

Didn't think so.

I think lemmings are the biggest graphics whores around, there always showing off how gears of war is the most graphically impressive game ever, even though the gameplay is pretty madicore and it's full of glitches but it's still some how the best game ever in there eyes :| and there the ones always making the comparison threads for PS3 vs XBOX360 ports rambling on about how the 360 version has the better graphics while cows just don't give a damn and enjoy the damn game.Rough_Divider

Yeah Gears was hyped for the graphics, but once the game came out, people started to see that the gameplay itself wasn't that bad. BioShock was hyped NOT just for the graphics, but for the atmosphere/gameplay as well, and just like Gears, it came through in a huge way. So you see, unlike a certain game *cough*HeavenlySword*cough* that was hyped for graphics, and ended up having mediocre gameplay, us lemmings have proof.

To say that cows don't care about graphics is laughable.

[QUOTE="V_Isle"]XB Live will destroy Home. Did you buy a PS3 to use some lame second life rip-off? Do you guys even care about good online gaming? Sheesh PSN is such a failure, makes me happy knowing I have access to the highly superior XB Live. But then again, you guys don't even have any good exclusive games to play online in the first place, so you're probably not missing out on much.
ace52387

What are you talking about? You have more demos and what? feedback? that's basically it if you factor in what home offers. No dedicated servers and 50 dollars a year = crappy service. PSN isn't what i would call good, but it's not crappy like XBL is. It's milkage, and a ripoff.

Demos, videos, tv shows, music videos. And much more. Pretty good for a proven, excellent, critically acclaimed online service. Funny how last gen cows had nothing to say when it came to online, because they knew their "online" was a joke (I have a PS2 and have played online once. Worst.Experience.Ever.

Now they THINK they are being offered something that might resemble an online service in a few years, and think they can compete with a service that has been around since...oh the beginning of the first Xbox.

Ripoff? Yes being a Sony drone I can see how you know that word very well.

[QUOTE="-Ninja_Dog-"]

Yup.

Home is to meet hot gaming chicks.

Live is to play some competitive games.

_Dielan_

Too bad Hot Chicks can't afford a PS3 and Xbox Live is a terrible service. Paying=/=no lag+good features.

No lag on PS3's awful excuse for an online service? Guess you've never played Resistance. And features? You aren't fooling anyone Cow. Go stroke it to your Kutagari 2007 calendar please.

[QUOTE="bluebrad1974"][QUOTE="_Dielan_"]

[QUOTE="bluebrad1974"]It shouldbe common knowledge to everyone by now that the 360 is the superior game machine. The proof is everywhere for everyone to see. It's someones own fault if they choose to ignore it._Dielan_

Where is this proof?

Where have you been? It's been proven: 360 has the best library, the best online, andthe best graphics. Those 3 things alone prove that the 360 is the better game machine.

Better library eh?

Gears SUCKS

Lost Planet IS BORING AND UN-INSPIRING

I can play Rainbow Six on another console

Dead Rising? I'd rather watch paint dry. ooooh zombies in a mall! INNOVATIVE!!!

All other 360 games do not interest me.

The Best online? Well, you may be right about that. I do like to talk to all those twelve year olds on the mic.

Graphics? They will look better on PC. And I have one of those.

So you mention 4 games that have been out for...I don't know...months, and in Dead Rising's case over a year now. BioShock (which has been proven is better on the 360..as are most games nowadays), Halo 3 (which won't come to the PC for at least 2 years), Mass Effect. Those 3 alone are system sellers.

But have fun with that PC. I'm sure glad I don't have to spend a grand plus to upgrade my PC for one game.
