@Slagar Oh yeah, regarding the crafting, that cost is more than 4gold to max to 400. Copper only last till 100, so 1/4th of armorsmith or weaponsmith cost around 4 gold. So essentially 4 gold JUST to get 1/4th done with armorsmith. Sure, you can mine as you level, but the game is still pretty expensive, cost wise in gear. To show you how gold is hard to get... 50 dollars is about 7 gold.

Actually, I've never played a Blizzard game in my life. If you paid attention to my post, I insulted diablo 3, which is a blizzard game. I actually play guild wars 2 and I'm stating what I find as kinda bad. I'm a greatsword burning dps spec and scepter shield support, a level 80 human with traits in zeal, valor, and radiance, 30/20/20 respectively. I've been to Orr, the dungeon with it where you battle the dragon

So, yes, I have played, and yes, I know what I'm talking about. Cultural gear, have you looked at it? it's over 100 gold to purchase it. Have you ever crafted? It's 20 gold for an 18 or 20(I forget which, both of which cost gold) slot bag because of the holding rune. Yes, it's expensive as heck. Then copper on the trading post is around 20-30copper, that's triple of the higher level mats. You need 1000 or so copper ores because it's 10 copper ore and 1 tin to make ONE ingot. You need around 100 or maybe more. That's a few gold, which in this game is a lot. Then you buy the other mats, essentially, you can spend SEVERAL gold to buy these mats to create the insigna's or whatever other craft you are. People can be two crafts, that's not nearly enough for the that you earn from events and leveling. You gain 1 silver from each event and they aren't extremely frequent. Even on Orr, the endgame map, you gain 1 silver per event and there are no heart missions, so all you have are events. Not to mention, you barely have enough room in your bags as is. Guess what it cost to increase those slots? Gems, which require real money. To max out these bags, it's 40 or so dollars. Those of you saying that PVP, gear doesn't matter, it does. The stats you have stack, check it out, if you ever get to 80. There are weapons that cost 60 or so gold on the trading post as well. So each quest gives 50 copper to 1 silver, events give 1 silver, even at max level, if you don't craft and sell everything, you get around 7 gold, crafting, you lose 4 gold. Buying traits(guild war 2's equivalent of skills), you lose 3.5gold, which already leaves you in the negatives. You don't believe me? Play the game. Lastly, the person saying why don't you look at EQ grind to compare to this game, REALLY? At this day in age, you cannot get away with that much grind and make it enjoyable(speaking about EQ grind).
"WoW's launch was worse." Okay, make a game like WoW in this day and age, see how it does. "Final Fantasy 7 has worse graphics and it did fine." Make a game that bad today, without previous knowledge of how enjoyable the story was and see how many people buy the game. Exactly, your refutes make no sense. I'm stating exactly what happens in this game.

@rann89 Guild influence essentially makes your guild better in world v world PVP. And since guild wars 2 is a PVP game, it matters a lot. The players get huge buffs and the keeps that you own in PVP are buffed too. A guild that has spent hundreds of dollars getting these benefits will most likely beat another guild without any of these benefits. The point of what I was saying isn't literally being the best, but trying to be the best. A person can buy all the best perks and gear in this game. Cultural gear, etc. It's all bought by gold and there is a gem to gold conversion directly into the game. Therefore, all endgame(the best gear in the game) gear can be bought with real money.
Guild influence is also bought with gems, already heard many players in the game discuss how they spent hundreds of dollars to make their guild the best.
There was a major bug that made it so that you would buy stuff on the trading post and not receive the item. That and this game is very much a pay to win game since you can buy all the best gear with real money with the gem to gold conversion. At max level 80, cultural gear is buyable for several gold. With 100 dollars, you can buy most of it, not all. So, at the moment, eh.
The game has a lot of bugs after level 25. There have been game breaking bugs that don't let you continue the game, personal story ones. At level 78, there's a bug that's been posted on reddit and some events don't work.
