Kane and Lynch has officially killed GameSpot's credibility.

What people aren't understanding is that this is not about someone getting fired for what expressing what they believe in, it's the fact that CNET would go as far as firing someone for money. Yes, we all know money makes the world revolve, but people come to game sites to get a good, unbiased opinion about their games. And now, this calls in question ALL the other reviews on GameSpot, because how certain are you that CNET wasn't persuaded to push GS editors into giving certain games a good review? And yes, the game may not be as bad as Jeff said it was, and yes, many people who are rating the game with a 1.0 haven't played the game, but CNET has to be taught a lesson that money is not all that matters, and Eidos must be taught not to push for good reviews if they truely don't deserve them. Reviews should be about the individual's personal opinion, not about how much money they're getting from speaking for someone else.

Only games I'm still waiting for are:

Kirby Super Star (BEST KIRBY GAME EVER!!)

Vectorman 1 + 2 (Awesome series... someone should revive it.)

Super Smash Bros. (I know it's nowhere near as great as Melee but my cousins and I still play the heck out of it on his N64 so I'd like to have a copy to train.)

I have a tough time keeping track of everything with a full screen... split-screen would make it worse in my opinion.

I disagree, the wii remote has the potential to surpass the mouse and keyboard. blingchu55

I would agree except for one thing: the lack of buttons on the Wii remote. There's only so much you can do with... *counts* 8 buttons and a D-pad. And sure they can combine buttons for different actions, but then it gets really frustrating and difficult to memorize all the button combinations.

Also, not everyone has a steady hand so accuracy may be a problem for some people with the Wii remote.

I can spout these facts because I have a Wii, a n64, a ps1 and a ps2 stick that in your pipe and smoke it. =) Wile the cube had more ability that the Playstation there where too few games that took advantage of them imo. To be fair the graphics depend more on the programmers than the platform in a lot of ways but none the less the Wii games do fit on a sliding scale from n64 to ps2 IMO. I have yet to see any graphics that are above the latest ps2 games by a substantial margin.

Ill give MOH a shot on the Wii I just like realism/strategy in shooters and I hope MOH is much improved from the last shooters to hit the Wii, sounds like people are enjoying it thats what counts the most.

quistoman

You seriously need to stop talking.

First of all, I have a Wii, N64, PS1, and PS2 also... plus I also have a GC and Xbox. That being said, saying that the Wii's graphics are somewhere between N64 and PS2 is pure crap since GC had better graphics than PS2. Wii's graphics are par with Xbox and maybe even a bit better. Sure, not very many games on the Wii have proved this yet, but none look as bad as any PS2 game, so stop saying bull for the heck of it.

And yes, Wii might not be as powerful as Xbox 360, PS3, or especially PC, but it's not trying to be. And that's another thing, comparing Wii to the PC... just rediculous. Xbox 360 and PS3 will never beat PC so what makes you think the Wii is even trying to compete? PC's are meant for the individual to upgrade as much as they can with as much money as they have, meaning they will ALWAYS be better than home consoles simply because with home consoles you get what you buy and there's no changing that.

On the matter of the precision of FPS's, while the Wii does have great potential in this genre, it has yet to prove it. I agree that a mouse and keyboard are still better but the Wii remote is a lot more fun than a SNES-style controller, and better at accuracy. And sure, PS3 is getting on this bandwagon and implementing a mouse and keyboard also, but think about it, you might as well just play the game on a PC in this situation since PC's will improve on the same game in every aspect. The one thing that PC does not have that Wii will always have is motion controls and this is what developers need to keep in mind and use correctly for the Wii to become a great FPS console.

So in short, PC still, and always will, be better than the Wii in terms of FPS's due to the awesomeness of the mouse and keyboard... but Wii with its Wii remote has the potential to be at least better than the Xbox 360 and PS3 with their SNES-style controllers. It all depends on the developers now and if they're going to put the time and the effort to dish out a good FPS game on the Wii... which MOHH2 has tried to do and is a good first step up.

Since I already bought BWii, the next 4 games I want are:

Medal of Honor: Heroes 2
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
Super Mario Galaxy
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2

And I'll get Link's Crossbow Training as well since it's bundled in with the Wii Zapper which I'm definitely getting.

What I don't understand is how they admit it's a much better game than the first game, given it still has it's flaws which I agree, yet they still give it almost an entire grade lower than the original. I would understand that they might think that games these days are held to higher standards but to be THAT overly hypocritical seems wrong to me.

I bought my Wii on launch day and was very pleased with just playing Wii Sports for a month. I eventually got more games, but after about April, after Super Paper Mario was released and I completed it, I stopped playing my Wii for a while. Mainly because there were no interesting games coming out and I had played to heck out of the ones I owned. During this time I downloaded MANY VC games but those didn't hold my interest after I beat them once. This continued till about July when Mario Strikers Charged came out and slowly I started playing my Wii more often... but then MSC got a bit boring also so I stopped again. But then came the game I've been waiting for since launch day... BATTALION WARS II!! I love it! I can't stop playing it now and I honestly think I'm not going to get bored with this one like I did with MSC.

BWii should hold me up for a while until SSBB, but if it doesn't then there are many other games I'm looking forward to between now and Christmas so I can just go out and get one of those.

So to answer the original question: do I regret buying a Wii? I did for a couple months when nothing seemed to be coming out worth getting, but now it seems that Nintendo is finally releasing the good games we were promised, so for that I DO NOT regret buying it.
