Jeb's Monster Hunter Blog

Right now I'm playing Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii. I've often considered Monster Hunter to be amongst my top 3 game franchises, spending hundreds of hours with it, just like many other MH enthusiasts. When I first got the game I played offline for about 2 hours, then went straight to online. I stuck with online for about 120 hours, before doing what I always do: make another character from scratch. So now I'm doing an offline only playthrough, and I have to say it's not only fun, but I've learned alot about the weapons. This time I started with exclusively SnS, and have gotten to 3* quests. I was trying to get a King's Frill from the 2* Great Jaggi slaying quest, but couldn't break his mane before killing him with my Assassin's Dagger. So I spent some time to get the materials for a Bone Bludgeon, knowing that hammers are good for hitting the face. It was a hard decision between the Bone Ludroth Maul or the Bone Bludgeon, and I was happily surprised by how well the Bone Bludgeon fairs against the Great Jaggi. In the first run through of the quest, I managed to finish it in 1:44, much faster than my Sword and Shield runs, with a fastest time of 1:22. I got the King's Frill on the fourth try, completing my full Jaggi gear. Now I'm going to spend some time acquiring items, and upgrading my weapons, before taking on the Barroth and getting to 4*. My goal now is to make a water GS for taking down more Quropecos. Once I get some Flintstones I'll make the Fire SnS, and take down more Royal Ludroths. At that point I'll make whatever strong weapon I feel like taking on Barroth with, since I forgot his element weaknesses. Fire maybe? or was it Ice? Don't know why I felt like making a blog about my current exploits, guess I'm pretty bored.
