PS2 Emulation

So, I posted yesterday saying I would let you guys know about the how modding your PS2 can allow you to use emulators on your system.  I know most of you love the classics, so what better way to enjoy them than to pack them all onto one disc and load them from a single program.  I put about 40 or 50 on there and most of them were the classic RPGs.  Here's a list of only the RPGs that I threw on there:  Final Fantasy II and III, Lufia I and II, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Chrono Trigger,  Eye of the Beholder, Illusion of Gaia, Breath of Fire I and II, and I think that's about it.  Let me know what you guys think...I can always add more.

Renting Games Online

So, I know I've been out of commission for a while but there have been a lot of new developments that I'm going to touch on in the next few days.  Pretty much all of them have to do with my mod chip and how it's made everything so much easier.  Tomorrow, I'll give you guys some incite into how it can really open up your gaming experience by allowing you to run emulators on your PS2.  Imagine firing up the SNES and loading the original Chrono Trigger...yeah, I know what you are thinking, it's awesome.  More details tomorrow.

Possibly Modding My PS2

Recently, I have been looking at Modchips and I was wondering what everyone thought about it.  I'm not going to get anything where I have to solder my PS2 but I was just considering it and I was wondering what the general consensus is when it comes to modding consoles.  If anyone is interested, go here for more information.

Revolution=Wii?

So, if any of you follow the world of the Nintendo Revolution you would know that they just recently announced the new name of their next gen console, the Wii.  Trust me, I'm just as confused as you.  I thought that Nintendo was finally going to get serious and take the world by storm once again but no, they decide to change to something that reminds me of the sound I made when I was seven going down a slide.  I don't really guess it's a total loss, at least they haven't delayed it yet. Let's hope they don't announce anything like that...

Grandia III

So, I went down the road yesterday and stopped at Game Haven.  I went ahead and pre-ordered Shadow Hearts and looked around for a bit.  I noticed Grandia III behind the counter and I decided to go ahead and get it despite the reviews saying it wasn't all that great.  I'm going to go ahead and tell you that whoever reviewed the game may very well be in a chemically-induced coma because this game is great.  It has touches of Shadow Hearts and Fable and I assure you that is a winning combination.  I'm going to recommend this to everyone at the RPG Temple as well as anyone who considers themself a fan of RPGs.  Go get it today.

Burnout 3: Takedown

OK, so I know I'm normally big into RPGs but me and Savoy was talking the other day and he recommended Burnout 3:  Takedown as a way to get off the RPG kick for at least a week or so.  I must say that it was definitely a great addition to collection.  There hasn't been a game that I've played in a while that has challenged me the way this one has.  Plus, the idea of intentionally crashing other racers just seems like a good idea.  For all of you out there who might want a break from the normal dungeon crawling, dragon slaying RPG world...I would definitely suggest Burnout 3:  Takedown and at 19.99 as a Greatest Hits?  How could you go wrong?

PS.  Thanks for the tip Ron.

The Greatest Quarter of the Millenium

So, I was looking around IGN earlier and checked the PS2 Release Date page and it looks like all of us are going to be so busy with RPGs that there won't be any time for posting.  Here's a brief list of the RPGs coming out in the next few months:

  1. Tales of Legendia - February 7th
  2. Grandia III - February 14th
  3. MS Saga:  A New Dawn - February 21st
  4. Shadow Hearts:  From the New World - March 7th
  5. Metal Saga:  March 28th
  6. Suikoden V - March 28th
  7. Kingdom Hearts II - March 30th

That's only including the ones that have been announced.  Looks like good times are ahead.
