Movie Craptics

This is my firm opinion about movie watching.  Pay very little attention to your friends and others while deciding on a movie's potential.  First of all, 99.9% of critics are full of crap...with the other .1% just being a bit turdy.

Anyways, you'll probably have your friends that have fairly similar movie interests as yourself that you can trust with your movie-goin advice.  But honestly, EVERYONE has slightly different tastes in movies, so don't hold what they say too close to your heart.

I know this blog is almost meaningless but if you take anything from it, take the possible influence that next time when a friend says a movie is terrible and not worth your time that you might go and check it out anyways...and find out that it may be your new favorite.  Have an open mind my friends, and you'd be surprised what will find its way into your head.

Xbox Live BANS

Ok, I'm not quite your avid gamer on Xbox Live, I mean I'm a pretty busy guy so I try to get an online game once in a while.  The problem is that 75% of the people on Xbox Live have the crappiest internet connections known to man.  That's not counting dial-up of course.  These people seem to have the phone cord/cable cord hybrid.  Anyways, I think Xbox should categorize users by internet speed so that I don't have to deal with playing a basketball game where it's so laggy that I end up quitting and hurting my record.  All the people that play with crap internet are used to playing with crap internet and maybe it doesn't bother them to be playing the game 2 seconds before they are seeing it, but it REALLY bothers me.  I just wish I wouldn't have to deal with constant invites from people with crap internet and could enjoy cruising around lobbies finding people with internet such as mine.

Academy Award Garbage

Ok, so I watched the Academy Awards because I love movies and I try to watch as many as I can.  I enjoyed the Awards except for some things that made me really upset.  When someone wins an award, they win it because they worked REALLY hard for it and put in the time.  So when they are hurried off stage after about 15 seconds, barely able to thank all of the people they wanted, that pisses me off.  Then they have Melissa Etheridge singing a 5 minute song which has nothing to do with awards.  Will Ferrell and Jack Black, yeah it was funny, but come on, you hit it on the head, you aren't there for a reason so don't steal the spotlight from the amazing make-up artists behind Pan's Labyrinth.  It just angers me.  Everyone is so concerned with entertainment that they forget to look at what really matters, the actors and films that have won the awards.

Xbox Live has taken over my life.

My life is gone, or it has morphed I should say, into the greatest thing ever...Xbox Live.  I have always been hesitant about playing games online.  I started online with Madden on PS2, it seemed like it had potential, but no drive behind it.  Microsoft has taken the concept of online play and taken it to the extreme.  Xbox Live Arcade combined with playing people on normal games is something that seems to suck the life out of me...in the BEST way ever.  I have a few 360 games and I don't even have time to play online like I'd like to.  Basically, if you own an Xbox and don't have xbox live, then you need to get it IMMEDIATELY...  Thank you Microsoft, for taking my old life away, no seriously, I'm glad.

People anger me

Ok, I got into a classic argument at work today where I take the viewpoint that you can't really say you know anything unless you experience it yourself.  I mean yes, from what I've been told and what I reason, I conclude that the earth is round.  If someone should tell me the earth is flat, I have no right to argue with them, they are merely going against the opinion that someone else told me.  They have every right to believe in what they choose is most believable.

I hope this makes sense, people at work seem shallow and think I'm trying to avoid "fact" when I do this, and I reply that "fact" is what you make of it.  History for example, all it is is what people have said or written down, passed on from generation to generation through voice and writing; yes they have video of more present history, but the really old stuff, could all be crap. They tell you that it's true, so we believe it to be so, when in "fact" it could all be garbage.  We are gerbils in a neverending quest for knowledge that is just regurgitated from generation to generation with new crap piled in.

I mean if someone says, "I'm five feet tall".  Well ok, let's measure you, if the tape measure says you're five feet then yes, I believe it, and if other people thought differently they'd be wrong.  With things other than that, using some scientific fact, is to me, a far reach.  I mean, do you REALLY know about molecules?  If you've seen one and played with it, good for you, but if you haven't seen something, can you really say it's true?  Yes, you can believe in it, but you can't say you are right.  Are we even sure that the sun makes the grass grow?  We aren't, we correlate the two things and then scientists babble scientific jargon that at least to me will always be their opinions, not mine, until I see the sun helping a plant grow, I will always be open on that subject.  Basically, I've been told the sun helps plants grow, so I believe it, what if that's crap and in fact, plants live random lives based on their water intake, who really knows?  I know I don't, so I believe what is best for my mind, not what some bum has told me to believe.

Yes, I form opinions, and usually strong ones, but if I can't make them from my own experiences then I will believe in what feels most right to me at the time.  Anyways, kind of a random thought, I'd go into it more but I just got home from work at 7:30 am and it's time to sleep..night!

Oh How I love Thee, the 360

So I recently purchased a 360 and have found out that many of my friends that I thought I'd lost are still alive and well, and definitely interested in playing my 360.  BUMS!!!!

I've purchased quite a few games.  Gears, Madden, NBA 2k7, Dynasty 5, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Fight Night 3, Burnout Revenge.  I personally can't get enough of any of these games so it's been very hard to keep up in school as of late haha.

I'm pretty pumped about xbox live.  It's a really sweet thing, except I don't understand some things.  For example, my brother wants to have a name to play Madden under my account.  Can we do that?  I mean, I don't want him to use my name because I want to have my own records as well.  But I shouldn't have to get another gold account just for my little brother to play madden occasionally...just wondering if anyone knows how this works?

Overall, 360, AMAZING, although I'm worried about it breaking because that seems to be happening to every owner of the 360 that I know.  Oh well, wish me luck!
