slice up some unions for the sauce please

I am now the proud member three unions: the inuyasha union, the crystal chronicles union, and the squareenix and campcom union. now if i could just figure out what in the world a union is, and how i should use it. any passerbys with some info, let me know what i'm not getting about it, please. thanks
