Didn't really realize this but I recently reached three-thousand reviews! I know it's not an enormous accomplishment but I'm really just happy I've made it this far. TV.com has really helped me with my writing (and typing skills), thanks to TV.com, I've developed a "voice" at a young age. I've considered writing reviews as a career option, but with this economy, it doesn't really seem likely.
I went to NYC recently for the first time in my life. Loved the energy/atmosphere, oh and especially the food. Mmm, delicious.
I realized that my username now is completely false since my name is not Cindy neither do I live in Canoga Park anymore, haha, just thought that was amusing.
Have been "stuck" at level 49 for nearly a year now, I think I just might pickup my reviewing just to get rid of the "Snufflupugus" title.
In my last blog, many were astounded at how many TV shows I watched. Just wanted to clarify that I hardly have time for the shows I watch as well (which is why I didn't write reviews as actively). My DVR gets filled within 2-3 weeks, and theres just a random day where I catch up with an eight hour marathon but it's not like I'm ALWAYS watching TV.
Recently, my Youtube account was suspended, a huge bummer since all my edited videos were on my computer back in California, so no way of re-uploading and I lost my Sony Vegas editing program so I kind of put a halt to that as well. I do miss it however.
I recently took up baking.
Hmm lets see, I recently ran the Denver Rock n' Roll 1/2 Marathon, time was around 2:30 which isn't fantastic but it will do.
I recently took up learning a foreign language. American Sign Language! It's very exciting, I've met some really amazing people through this form of communication. I recommend learning some signs, it is fun.
I also recommend taking this personality testIt's called the Enneagram. I personally think it's a comprehensive way of learning about yourself. It's a form of psychoanalysis so it does have some Freud overtones but overall, I really enjoy it.
TV Show Spotlight:
Happy Endings
I personally did not like this show at all when it premiered last year but this year, I gave it a few tries and really liked it. It's like The Office/30 Rock/Community's witty humor/awkwardness mixed with the warmth and close-knitted relationships of Friends and How I Met Your Mother (without a laugh track)
What I Am Reading and What You Should Be Reading:
I don't know if you guys like reading, I guess I'll know in seeing how many of you guys stuck around to reading this immense blog, but I definitely recommend Jonathan Franzen's 'The Corrections.' It's about a man struggling with Parkinsons and how is family is dealing with that meanwhile facing their own ethical issues and conflicts. Think Six Feet Under or a grittier Parenthood.
Music Spotlight:Brand New
Don't know if any of you like this type of music, but I would recommend this band: Brand New. Start with the song "Daisy" and work your way from there. Lots of dark overtones to say the least, some screaming, but amazing songwriting. I would check out "Daisy" "Bed" "Noro" or "Millstone" if you're not in to the screaming.
Well hope you guys enjoyed this immense catch up of what I've been up too this year. Looking forward to hear from you guys.
