[QUOTE="garrett_duffman"] it doesnt matter if its a second party. just because you own a sandwich doesnt mean you ARE that sandwich. if nintendo works with a second party that still a collaboration. garrett_duffman

By that logic Nintendo's internal teams are the only true 1st party in the industry. 2nd parties like Hal, have been with Nintendo forever, they are basically one in the same. Iwata was the president of Hal before becoming the CEO and President of Nintendo. I did correct some of your claims, I will let you have the 2nd party thing for the sake of argument. With that said some titles you are claiming to be a collaboration aren't. Like Paper Mario for example.

paper mario was developed my intelligent systems

And your point? Intelligent Systems is first party.

[QUOTE="garrett_duffman"] I think that we have different understandings of series maybe? the 2d and 3d zelda are both the same series, zelda, just as 2d and 3d mario are the same. really, series that have been touched by third parties is a pretty big list, just from the top of my head... Mario (Super Mario RPG) Zelda (Oracle of Ages/Season, Minish Cap) Metroid (Prime)2nd party, Corruption is technically a 1st party game as Retro was fully purchased by Nintendo at that pointF-zero (GX) Starfox (for snes and 64)Miyamoto created the characters but Nintendo EAD did work with Argonaut.Pokemon2nd party Dr. MarioOriginal was made internallyExcitebikeOriginal was made internally(including truck an bots) Mother2nd partyKirby2nd party The game and watch seriesIf you are referring to the Game and Watch Galley series on the GBA you are correct, but the original hardware and games were created internallyWave RaceGameboy release was a collaboration the sequels were entirely 1st partyDonkey KongThe character has been in too many games to be this broad but this is still simple. There are the Donkey Kong Country/DK64 games that were made by a 2nd party at the time and the Namco rhytm games, everything else is 1st partyCustom Robo2nd partyPaper Mario1st PartySmash Bros.2nd party minus Brawl the game that needed a mega teamchibi Robo 2nd partyand im sure there are plenty, plenty moregarrett_duffman

So...what exactly are you saying? Are you saying that Nintendo needs more 2nd parties or that they should collaborate more with 3rd parties?

[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"][QUOTE="garrett_duffman"] oh. well, i cant think of any mario platformer or 3D zelda, but like you said, "most", and most is not all. but i keep my statement: third parties giving a fresh air every once in a while (and not always) is good for the franchises (look at metroid other m). overuse of third party support will make the franchise lose it's (lacking a better term) uniqueness. [QUOTE="osan0"] as for retro....thats not outsourcing. retro are second party..they are owned by nintendo. prime was developed with guidance and input from nintendo and alot of it. garrett_duffman
let me just add something: retro was bought by nintendo so they could make the new metroid. myiamoto himself canceled ALL the projects retro had by then so their only focus would be the new metroid. and obviously, he stayed there the whole time seeing what were they doing, and would force them to start a new project from the ground if he didnt like something about it. myiamoto's definitely someone i wouldnt like to see supervising my work :|

[QUOTE="garrett_duffman"] uhh.... wow i dont even know where to start...I think im gonna hit the hay first then tackle this in the morning maybe...Thiago26792

There is no false information in my response. I like the idea of Nintendo collaborating with other talented developers, but all of their biggest title were made in-house. So, I don't see the point in turning everything they do into a collaborative effort. It's silly.

The Mario, Zelda, and Star Fox series (Star Fox had basically only 2 great games) are the only ones I can think of. Oh and maybe Paper Mario. What about Donkey Kong, F-Zero, the handheld Zeldas, Animal Crossing, and Metroid?

Paper Mario is made internally same for Animal Crossing. All of the Donkey Kong's minus the Rare titles were made internally. All of the console F-Zero games minus GX were made in-house. All of the handheld Zelda's minus Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons, and Minish Cap are made in-house, that includes the upcoming Spirit Tacks. All of the 2-D Metroids and Hunters were made by Nintendo, the rest were made with Retro's involvement not counting the pinball spin-off which was developed by a third party. Retro was 2nd party and now they are full blown 1st party, so you could say all Metroid were made internally depending on how you look at it.

[QUOTE="kolkov01"] Perfect dark for the gameboy color Mickey's speedway USA Killer Instinct Gold Conker's pocket tales blast corps Jet Force Gemini all of these games are from the N64 era. All of the scored AA or lessmillwrought

What games have they released with Microsoft that are universally considered AAA? Compare that to when they were with Nintendo, and then tell me what the difference is.

Consider how far back that was though, games were simplier and it was easy to create something innovative and special, but the market is croweded and it's harder to do something different.

Also their style of game isn't really liked anymore by gamers.

Games were easier to create but that doesn't mean good games were easier to create.

Thanks for the input. I really like the "Forum Nazi" platform you are promoting.

Isn't that the point? Under Nintendo they were considered a AAA developer.
