Brutal Legend.............WOW!

WOW............

Brutal Legend

.........where did this come from?

I got home from work and like always hopped right on the net to check out some Google reader. The first hit in my feed was Brutal Legend. I watched the trailer, then I immediately watched it again, and again, and I think by now you can see where this is going. The little bit of information that I was able to round up leads me to believe that this will be just the beginning of an amazing game. It's being created at Double Fine which is Tim Schaefer(the man behind the excellent, but oft forgotten "Pysconauts")'s production company. Evidently it's the cover for the November issue of Game Informer, I'll be picking that up tomorrow and I will update if theres anything interesting in the article.

Fall TV

So now that "premiere week" is a distant memory, and sweeps right around the corner, I figured I would share some of my favorite shows from the new fall lineup.

Chuck

I had saw the pilot for this one over the summer, and really enjoyed it. The second episode, in which Chuck was able to fly a helicopter, strictly from his video game playing skills almost derailed the Chuck train for me. Instead I decided to give it another chance, and I really am glad that I did. The last two episodes have had great developments in character, story, as well as the overall presentation. Adam Baldwin as Kevin Casey is, dare I say, Coxian to a tee(not sure how refferential that actually is, but the Scrubs peeps will get it). If you haven't already checked this one out, do so immediately.

Reaper

First off I want to preface this by saying Bret Harrison is awesome in pretty much everything he is in. Reaper is no exception. Basic premise is parents sell boys soul to devil, boy turns 21, devil enlists boy to return escaped souls to hell. In all reality the only reason I everchecked this show out was the Kevin Smith effect. He directed the first episode, and it was so good, Ididn't think it would be as strong without him on board(btw, hegets aproducers cred.).The characters all work well together, and as much as I didn't like recasting Andi, Missy Peregrym is just so hot. Sock is a great sidekick, he is hillarious, wild, and crazy enough to make anything work. Just see how much he new about bug eradication in "All Mine". And last, but by no means least, is Ray Wise as the devil......I can't say enough about his performance, he's cunning, ruthless, demanding, and has all the likeability of a best friend. Just like i'd imagine the devil would be.

Big Bang Theory

I'm probably in the minority when I say how much I like this one. I think this stems from the fact that I'm a geek at heart. Don't get me wrong the physics and math refferences are way over my head. But, the BSG and WOW refferences strike at my inner geek. This show is all about the supporting players. Leonard is always tripping over himself to try to"court" Penny, and rest assured Sheldon will always be there to make that task even harder. The best performance comes from a comedic actor I didn't even know about until STUDIO 60, and that's Mr. Simon Helberg or Wolowitz.Do yourself a favor, even if multi-cam sitcoms powered by a laugh track aren't usually your thing. GiveBBT a try.

Wow, going into this I had nointention of making all my shows comedys. Guess it shows what my favoritegenre is. Let me know what you think, am I missing anything good this year? Please let me know in the comments.
