If by next level strategies in Destiny you mean either grinding endlessly in certain zones for drops or just playing pvp for days then yes. It's pure rng for leveling up after 20. Even more so after 24 when you can only get legendaries to get better.
@real_mcgamer If it makes you feel any better, I took my time and the story only took me 20 hours. If you wanna know what all that other "gameplay hours" is I'll tell you friend. After level 20, the only way to lvl up is by having your helmet, armor, gloves, and boots have + light. Basically light is like the strength or discipline bonus except it leads to you leveling up and that's it. You literally grind the same 6 strike missions dozens of times in hopes of getting a item with better light. If your lucky you will get a rare engram once or twice at best during the strike, and you get one or two when it ends. They can even become greens and often become useless items. I spent 5 hours grinding strikes last night for literally no items, it was all worse then what I had. That is your remaining 30 hours of gameplay to get to the max of lvl 30 other than pvp.
The answer is no it's not worth it. I own the game, and was bored of it within weeks. Even the re-hash of cod games get me more engaged. The game itself isn't worth it, so why would the dlc be?
